I just wanna know how skynet actually built them. Like how skynet just took over and reprogrammed all the machines in the world to start manufacturing terminators.
Yea but how and where? Is skynet building tank tracks at one complex then using remote control trucks to build the rest of the machine somewhere else or did it build its own manufacturing plants? All skynet had to do was release the flu lol.
Truth is its completely fictitious. An ai on the level of man is a pipe dream. We have no clue how to create one.
I got the impression that skynet was a technological singularity and when it went online, it used like a von neumann self-replicating process to program all the robots and terminators.
The implication was that skynet became sentient. And honestly, that's ridiculous. If it isn't, we'll never see it coming as we have no idea how.
And still I don't see how, like Irminsul said, it could begin mass producing robots. That takes hands.
But the robots and terminators never really existed. In T3 They had small scale replicas being designed and those little drone bots but I don't remember any technological advances. They were working on them in T2 however, but they blew up the building and destroyed the equipment brought back from the future, so Miles Dyson's work was thwarted. Now somewhere along the line his son makes it into a move but he's developing that stupid internet centre, so for that reason I don't even count terminator genesis as a part of the series tbh. It's a reach. In Terminator salvation the robots were starting to be fabricated with the T-1000 look However, the rest of the machinary is clearly present. And just to top it off, we've never ever ever seen like, construction equipment in the movies to suggest skynet took over with AI to build its own complex, yet it had its own complex in T-Salvation.
Doesn't bother me too much. If I'm willing to suspend disbelief for the concept of time traveling robots, I'm not going to quibble over the details of how they came to be.
At most skynet would only have terminators that were already assembled or in the assembly line, and that wouldn't be many. There's no reason to assume it would be capable of mining for iron. It's asinine. The whole movie is asinine.
