The UFC was on yesterday, ironically the most close contact sport.

They closed the coffeeshops here, I don't know when they're allowed to open again! I guess I need more patience than you... :p
Did somehow not expect this consequence of the lockdown, I was at a coffeeshop only yesterday to get some pot.
I guess i at least expected there to be at least 24 hours after the message before it would take place. Big lines before the coffeeshops this afternoon (saw some pics lol), weed hoarding has commenced :p

They have forced bars and clubs to close here until at least May 1st. That's a long time to shut down. I think this is going to kill many small businesses. You dont have to have the virus for it to ruin things for you. People are dying. I get that. It's horrible and something must be done. But a 3% mortality rate also means a 97% survival rate. Is this panic justified or irrational? That's what I'm trying to figure out.

I don't think anyone really knows yet if it is justified. Last time I that I checked the CDC was estimating a worst case scenario of 50%-70% infected with anywhere from 700,000 to 1.7 million dead. That's just in the U.S. but mind you that's worst case scenario, i.e. everyone goes about their business as usual and no treatment is found. They're not actually predicting that to happen.

So yeah, some action is definitely needed. We just don't know if we're doing enough or too much.

The worst aspect of this whole situation is how because it affects everything, it's all anyone can talk about. We're going to be so bored of listening to ourselves discuss this damn virus but also unable to stop.

I want to go for a walk but cat has curled up on my lap and gone to sleep and I feel like a dick of I kick her off. She wouldn't do the same for me though I guess. I'll give her three minutes.

I know Joe Rogan is famous for having a podcast. Never listened to it but I think him Having Andrew Yang on his show is what catapulted Yang into the mainstream. I wasn't 100% convinced $1,000 a month of universal basic income was always feasible, but the coronavirus panic has sure proved to me that it is 100% needed. People are out of work. Im... pretty much out of work. Our economy and prosperity is fragile... fragile enough to be destroyed by a micro organism. I see now we all need financial protection from economic catastrophe which could come in many forms... war, natural disaster, depression, pandemic. But instead we got Joe Biden

    We're fucked

JR is an obnoxious, screaming, wannabe UFC fighter commentator. Fighters can stand his suckupablity. Its nauseating.

JR's podcast is more tolerable. Less screaming and less excitable.

I like Rogan's podcast a lot, his comedy a decent amount.

I'm quite impressed that he can engage with such a diverse range of guests.
