LOL indian~summer. Thank you, that's sweet of you...in an odd way. I'll admit, it's vanity weight at this point--I'm in a healthy weight range for my body. But the 'ideal' weight and size is different for every one and I just don't quite feel like I'm at MY ideal weight at this point. I am close, but I've still got these last 5-10 pounds before I feel my best. We've got lean frames in my family so an ideal weight to one person my height could be quite a bit heavier than an ideal weight for me, y'know? Thank you again though, I really do appreciate your sincere compliment.
Guys...I've been bad. I ran my 5k easter weekend-or the weekend before? right and after that have just been awful! I mean not exercising AT ALL. No yoga, no jogging-nothing. Plus I have been eating so many simple carbs and have been drinking at least 5 cups of coffee a day. I NEED HELP. Please help me. I want to be where I was last winter.
(peeks in) Kinda looks like my sort of place. I'm 5'2" and currently 190lbs. My highest weight was last October when I jumped on the scale & it read 212... I nearly fell over, I was so shocked & upset! My goal is to be back to 115lbs by my 33rd birthday. (September '08) So I'm down 22 pounds, but I've hit a bit of a plateau. I've been at this weight for just over 2 weeks now, and it's completely my fault. My diet is pretty balanced & I track myself at 1200-1500 calories per day. But I drink SO little water... if I'm lucky, I'll drink 3 cups a day. And exercise... let's just don't go there. I have an exercise bike, and it makes a very good clothes-rack. I have a couple exercise videos & DVDs that collect dust particularly well, and a balance ball that popped (the kids did it, honest!) last fall & still hasn't been patched or replaced. It's not that I don't WANT to exercise, it's that I can find so many things that need doing OTHER than exercise! So I know where my problems lie, I just need to kick myself in the rear hard enough that I get moving! love, mom
I've lost 10 pounds so far in a week and a half. My new fitness plan is I do an hour of cardio in the morning and I run on a elevated treadmill for an hour at night. I'm feeling much better... my clothes fit way better now.
Wow! everyone's doing so great, keep it up! I'm down to 192... Ian just asked me the other day to marry him on our trip out to Oregon, and it would be nice if I could get down to 185 or lower by that time (6/22). Not too terribly worried about it, though, because it'll be pretty casual and I'm making my own outfit.
Holy crap Earthymama, the weight is just falling off of you! How are you liking the NutriSystem? And hummblebee, 192! And you're getting married!!! Wow, sounds like you are doing just awesome. Great job everyone! Keep up the good work, the official beginning of summer is still about 5 weeks away and a lot of progress can be made in that time. Of course, our goals don't have to stop there, so I might make a new thread called "The Summer Weight Loss & Fitness Thread!" when that time comes.
nutri-system is great... it tastes good, I am never hungry and I have to eat a ton of fruits and veggies all day. Hummblebee... congrats! I hope you make ur goal for the wedding day!
187.... I've been in one of those really ickie cycles, though... where I'll be really good for a few days, then I'll go crazy and munch for a couple of days until I feel like a bloated cow. so my weight's been up and down a bit in the last couple of weeks. Now, though, I'm determined to just be really good for a while. I want to get over this hump - I've been exercising a lot more and that helps (but I'm also trying to stop chewing my nails, which makes things harder). at this rate, though, I shouldn't have any trouble making my goal for our wedding/trip! I might even get below 185!
Okay I am back in for reals. I want to lose 12 pounds by July 23rd so I can be comftrable being naked around my boyfriend and can fit in my clothes comftrabley. Starting weight: 177 (ouch! weighed myself just now and had no idea) Height: 5'9 Goal weight: 165 by July 23rd Plan: get 75 percent of my calories from fruits and veggies and eat 30 grams of fiber a day. Limit refined carbs to one drink at night and a non-fat mocha in the morning.
... It might be bikini weather by now in most places, but it's still Spring, so I'ma keep this going! I'm down to 183, amazingly. Without even really trying, either. I've been eating as much, perhaps more, than usual. But what with our trip and wedding less than two weeks off I've been very busy go-go-go lately, and I guess all that activity is what's kept the loss going. I plan on not even paying attention, with the exception of a possible check of the scale right before we leave for OR. I feel like at this point I don't want to worry about it, or let such things occupy my time while I should be sewing my dress and otherwise preparing for the trip.... (But of course I'm still posting here, because... well, come on!)
