the smell of joints on your fingers/clothes

I usually smoke weed with a pipe/bong, ever since I started.. but the times I do makes joints, I reek of weed right after. My fingers mostly, but just being within meters of me you can smell it! I hate that.

For some reason it don't seem to happen as much when I smoke other people's joints...

is there anything I can do to avoid this? and if not.. what's the best way to get rid of the smell? Cause soap and washing your hands don't do anything, the only thing to do is change and wait a while!
