I personally have the utmost respect for Skip and am grateful that he provides this site to share my views in.

My big gripe in that particular thread was madcrappie going on his typical power trip. He really got on my nerves the day when he decided to be the game thread nazi. The truth is that there is no place in the forum guidelines that specifically prohibits game threads. He looped it under the 'off topic non forum specific' umbrella.

So my complaint there was basically consistency. If you're going to be a 'mod' then be consistent about it. Don't just move one specific thread such as Matt's that maybe does belong in the user support forum and let other people post whatever they want.

I personally feel that he was using his 'power' to personal annoy Matt in a passive aggresive way by moving his thread to where it 'belongs'.

I always move complaints to the user support forum. that is where they go, if you cant realize this, then you are clearly mistaken.

game threads, what is your problem with this???????? its NOT me who has a problem with them. it is skips site, and game threads do nothing but clog up the server.

I let alot of things go, because they arent complaints against the site or moderators or administrators. that was clearly a complaint against this site!!!!!!!! so get off of it, and get off my back. if you read the whole thread , even skip says complaints belong there, not anywhere else and not in random thoughts. which is truely a complaint against the site, and against skip!

if I was truely a nazi, that thread would have been deleted. yet I gave him a voice, and there were alot of people that posted on that thing until it was closed.

you dont know how great you have it here. you go to any other site and you personally attack moderators or the administrator, youd be banned with no questions asked.

ryan, this is my point. That's your personal opinion about it clogging up the server.

There are dozens of random threads here that are posted everyday that receive very little forum participation because they are really nothing but drivel. People talking about how fucked up they got last night or spewing off random lyrics to songs they might be listening to at the moment.

Yet, you take a look at a thread like the one I made a couple years ago. I believe I called it Marry, Fuck, Kill. At one point it was the most responded to thread in the entire site. People liked it and it was harmless fun. It has sense gone by the wayside and I have no intentions of reviving it.

It's your 'PERSONAL' opinion that those threads shouldn't be allowed. There is no specific 'rule' in the forum guidelines outlawing them.

I disagree with you banning those because there is no rule against them - its your personal opinion. I do feel that you moderate at times based upon your personal opinion - not that of the majority nor what is defined by the site.

I've said my piece. I'll 'get off your back' from here on out. I'm just stating my opinion that I don't think you moderate consistently in accordance with forum guidelines and put your personal opinions into your decisions.

I've said my piece, you don't have to threaten to ban me again. If you think that 'banning' me is the right thing to do because I question your ethics behind how you moderate, than so be it. I disagree with how you handle things on here at times. If its so wrong for me to voice that, than so be it.

 

Like I said, I may not agree with what was done but again a mods job is a bitch, no matter what you do there is no way to make everyone happy.

I also have never used a link in my sig for outside the forum becuase I saw no point in clouding it up, and being odd I kinda like the stream lined look going on. I do not need a visual aid to tell me who is on here, it is easy to read the name but maybe that is too much for some.

This thread is beating a dead horse, its been battled already in a couple spots, no matter what you like or dislike Skip owns the site, he has mods to protect his view and his interest in the site.

It may be a free speech site but lets face it, there really is no real free speech without complications and consequences if your not the one with the power.

Be happy that you have a place to shoot the shit and talk pretty freely just know not to step on certian toes and your gonna be fine.

The rules were set and now more than ever we all know em so be happy smile, drink a beer and let it ride.

Madcrappie, again tough job, cant make us all smile even if you bought everyone a beer, some one would want a wine cooler ect. As for your fairness and moving whatever to whatever and not others, well you were given the power, you have to do as you think is right, and also eat some of the heat from the disgruntle. Let em vent as long as thehy dont attack you and soon it shall pass.

I have no idea why I wrote this perhaps Im tired and had a moment that I might have gave a rip about it.

Ive never threatened to ban you for questioning my ethics. and I NEVER banned anyone for making a game thread. when I do ban, its because they attacked me personally or attacked someone else, which is NOT allowed. game threads are under discretion of all moderators, if they arent contributing anything to the site, they are closed, capiche?? they dont have to justify anything they do. just live with it. one thing though, is that you cannot personally attack anyone here, and when that happens, you are banned. got it??

you are given a voice here, and you are allowed to speak your opinions, in a civil manner. you havent been censored or banned, just of yet, have you?? once you draw the line and attack a mod, the admin, or any other member of this site, you are subject to banning.

 

Can we attack ourselves? Sometimes I think it helps.

 

I mis-spoke. No you are right, you have never threatened to ban anyone for making a 'game thread'. I was more referring to you suggesting that on any other site if I put up a stink against a moderator, such as I have with you in the past few days, that I'd be banned. To me that was a passive aggressive flex of your muscles saying stop your comments or I'll ban you.

What I do not understand is your discretion. How is a 'game thread' such as mine, which went on for I think I recall went on for well over 50 pages is somehow a cancer compared to the many senseless one and done drivel threads we see.

Matt might argue against me, but I still believe in democracy and that popularity rules. No matter what the nature, as long as a thread doesn't disolve to people attacking one another - let it ride. Let the popularity of the thread decide, not your own personal opinion of whether you like it or not. capiche?

I said any other place would have you banned, that isnt a threat against you. that is a statement, because it is true. most other sites would not allow people to make accusations agaisnt moderators or the administrator, you know how much time and effort this is causing me when I could be doing something esle more productive?

to you're first question. no, obviously people don't look at every reply. the same could be said for any thread though that extends beyond three or four pages. It's not a waste a space because if it was, people would stop replying to such threads. People reply because they enjoy it.


as for the second statement you made. I'm not holding you at gun point ryan and demanding that you talk to me concerning the issues I have with you. That's one hundred percent on you. If you have something more productive to do than talk to me, then go do it. You are wasting your own time and effort - I'm not doing it for you.
