eeeek. I only watched the first one and am confused. What do you love about it? Im not attacking it...I respect all forms of expression...just curious as to what people find appealing about it cuz all I saw and heard was a bunch of creepy white guys screaming. I cant watch all the links right now cuz my daughter is laying here sleeping and I dont want to wake her...but Ill watch them tomorrow....Im assuming theyre all similiar?

Listen to them all the way through
They are the most amazing metal band (in my eyes Pat :p)

Equally as amazing live, I'd turn gay for Mikeal (lead guitarist/singer)

I do hope that changes your opinion

Well I posted a few black metal, a few death metal, and a couple blackened death metal videos

The appeal factor in death metal is the pure talent and skill it requires to play. Even the growling vocals take training to do properly and to not destroy your voice. Any aspiring musician could improve greatly by learning some death metal chops.

To me, Black metal is one of the most important genres on the planet. Mainly because it's real. There is nothing fake about it. the imagery and subject matter are trying to bring truth to the planet and open people's eyes. And the musicians have gone to great lengths to prove that what it conveys is what they truly believe and practice. Rappers talk about gangs and bling to sell records and most people are smart enough to realize it's mostly just a marketing image (not to say there are no rappers that are real gangsters). But black metal is real, the church burnings and murders in the 90's proved it.

Rap and metal should never be in the same sentence unless you say "Metal is better than rap"
    :p

And nu-metal should have never existed

...but but but korn used to be good... and rage against the machine is nu-metal beginnings and its thoroughly prods buttock, though most is garbage...

... amon amarth is good and after seeing the singer I am convinced that vikings were really as imposing as they are portrayed

I will stick by my beliefs and say that all music, that is "true" is good

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUSnqgKipN8 Listen to this.. most badass intro ever

    DIIISSMMMEEMMMBBBEEEERRRR, My favourite dismember song

I personally think it takes time and easing into, to fully appreciate what metal is about, i don't know about you Pat, but when i discouvered metal, i didn't start off listening to the kvltest of all bands. I started off with the soft crappy shit like korn.. ha.. Then went onto to great thrash albums, then from that onto death metal then to black

I can see a lot of people here liking the Folk and celtic type of metal

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsnRDcHdf_A

Not to sound like a gay.. But a lot of emotion in that song.. oh man.. makes me feel special downstairs

to each their own I guess... I have love for korn as it was the first metal band I ever heard.... and well I've been listening to celtic punk lately so I've becoming a little disconnected with the metal scene

    Kind of
I've liked Opeth since way back when, listened to all their albums 100 times... and appreiciate it hugely.
And then people come in.. listen to their latest album and clain they "love Opeth" It just frusterates, I am unable to put my feelings towards it into words. I'm also not trying to sound elitest
