The seventies, eighties, ninties, zeroes?

That's what I'll be saying when I am about to die. I hope I at least make it into the 40's.

I wonder when the phenomenon of labeling decades began. Did people do it in the 19th century I wonder?

I suppose they did, I mean why wouldn't they.

It's just nowadays people tend to assign more nostalgia and identity to decades, owing to the a changin' times we live in.

It was probably the aristocracy and that that thought that though in those days, most peasant probably just had thought patterns like: 'What day is it, today ur tummorra? I pretty shore it's not yestuuuurday. can ye spare me a turnip, kind sir?'

 

i don't know if i'll feel the need to call it anything
but i definitely can't see my self every calling it the aughts

 

the teens, just like in the nineteen teens and in human life span as well

this can be called the aughts, the turn of the century, or the new millennium/turn of the millennium

 

Thank god ill be able to drink legally before 2012

 

Noughties sounds cooler even though it seems its turned out a rather conservative decade

 

i just call it two thousand nine, two thousand eight, etc..........when we get to 2010 i'll start saying twenty ten, twenty eleven, etc.........really it's not that hard and also.......who the fuck cares?
