well then why all the mad profits by gangster and the like during prohibition? I agree that fuel will be a great currency. Seeds will be pretty good too but I would imagine the great profits from seeds will be shorts lived and will become just a decent trading item at best.
I think the gangsters controlled distribution. You have a great idea with alcohol. Moonshine is not a very complicated thing. I would think it would be easy to trade for other items.
my granpa had a still down by the crick. it was pretty awesome looking but it would make your eyes water if you got too close. then an oil slick developed on the pond and fouled the water.
UA here is one of our most fascinating and self sufficient posters. he's got all kindsa neat ideas. you should see his photos of his plants. cool shit.
UA, where's your place again? i can't recall properly without a beer in me. central america somewhere. how's business?
Right now I am in Belize Central America. Business is great. I am using the economic slowdown to streamline operations and cut costs. All I am really doing is a waiting game. My business operations can go for years with negative cash flow. My competition cannot. So in 2 years or less the economy will take out 90% of my business competition. Sales are off about $80,000 from last year. But big deal. I am in the process of moving major operations to a few places in South America. I am also about to start a small propaganda and political war against the government of Belize. So I imagine I will be exiting Belize in a year or two. Life has been grand. Good to talk at you mamaKCita. I have been so slammed with work I have not had the time to actively post in forums.
UA, you're alive! it's good that you would be able to sell seeds and fuel in the event of a revolution.. but would you be able to stop militant groups from taking your land?
Good question. I have great security. We also have plans for reacting to emergencies and different situations. But all that does not mean shit if someone puts a bullet in my head. In life you just never know some things. Living in the Third World has risks, but the rewards are incredible. I would rather die in an instant than linger on for years and have to depend on others. So I honestly do not know the answer to your question. I suppose we shall see. But I am not scheduled to die in the next few years. So I think with planning and preparing that I will do fine. If not then I will be dead and it will not matter.
Well as far as breeding, I have not found anyone who will put up with my numerous personality flaws. Oh, you meant breeding dogs... I already have a pack of pretty vicious trained dogs. But that is definitely some good advice for anyone who lives in remote areas.
guard dogs = animal abuse its this whole romanticizing of aggressiveness crap that IS the status quo that's overdue for revolting against.
oh, please. can you explain to me how guard dogs = animal abuse..? dog fighting is animal abuse. not giving your dog proper care, diet, and exercise could constitute abuse. but how in the hell is keeping a dog that is selectively bred for specific traits, trained, cared for, and well loved, abuse? and let me get this get straight. you want to "revolt" against "aggression" (in this case - people protecting their property from outside aggression) with what exactly?
not to mention, a handful of breeds are *natural* guard dogs, going back to what I mentioned about selective breeding. so do you advocate euthanizing them all, since guard dogs are animal abuse?
my dog is a well loved, spoiled rotten puppy. it's his nature to protect his pack. or at least make very intimidating noises while standing aggressively. part of why humans and dogs actually do so well together. deliberately forcing dogs to fight, now that's abuse.
