Since I might be joining the Marines in May, Call of Duty always freaks me out. :/

I almost joined the marines once. lolo, picture that? I found out my mom was sick though and couldn't bring myself to be thousands of miles away if something were to happen.

In retrospect, I'm glad I didn't go. It's not for me. I'd probably be in a military prison by now. haha

while i have absolutely no faith in direct violent action resulting in a world i would be happier with, i am also aware that there are many people in our existing world who are simpler and less self restrained them myself. this is not a prospect i look forward to with any great cheerfulness of heart for the immediate future, but for one long after the dust has settled that i have no reasonable expectation of living to see.

an unsustainable condition is one that will not endure, regardless of how popularly it may be wished to. many of todays conditions will be forcing themselves to change, and if not changed voluntarily with a minimum of suffering and pain, will bring about their own changes, in all likelyhood far less pleasantly. famine and disease will at some point result in population decrease if less painful measures are not taken to reverse its increase. along with this, the excessive use of combustion, because of population levels involved, is causing the very climate change that will result in this widespread famine and disease.

and it's not that there aren't people who can't see what needs to be done. but that economic incentives and economic interests are largely in opposition to doing so.

(i'm sorry i already posted this in future when this thread is obviously more appropriately where i should have, but hadn't checked here first to see that it existed)

I do not think Revolution is coming. Most are way to lazy and apathetic to do anything.

But a nice system collapse might just be what the doctor ordered.

    Massive changes going on.

So all I see is a pleasant dose of chaos for a few years.

    I can live with that.

You never can be totally prepared. But I am in a better position then most people are.

    So bring it on.:D

    alcohol.

Demand for crack, while in heavy demand by it's users, is in low demand throughout the population.

Coffee would be another good one and will hold a good value. Gold will always have value but is much harder to come by than the previous mentioned commodities.

Alcohol is easy as hell to produce. Anyone can do it and make it in large amounts.

Fuel and seeds will be my currency if it all goes to hell.

I am about one year away from being able to produce biodiesel at usable and salable levels.

All of that thanks to a plant called Jatropha curcas.
