The Real Definition of a Slut

the crux here is the difference between females who have sex for no other reason than the excitement of it vs those who have sex to obtain material or social gain.

of course it is possible that some women may start out in the former category and realize they can benefit from their inclination and become the latter.

 

Do you think there are many women who would give it away for free, when they could do the same but derive a material benefit from it? Interesting concept!

 

that's where you're stuck. The idea that a woman's vagina is a commodity and that wise ones extract as much value from it as they can and foolish ones give it away. The corollary is that men are are, under the right circumstances able to 'steal' a woman's vagina without paying market price.

I think this is an outdated mindset, certainly one I am familiar with as I grew up with it. I think the reality is that some women pursue their own sexual desires and do not need to be coerced or conned into having sex.

The beauty for men thinking this way is that they do not feel obliged to make themselves sexually attractive to the women they wish to sleep with, only wealthy or powerful or disingenuous enough to obtain their desired objects by ways other than physical allure.

Once this way of thinking is counterfeited terror strikes men who lack the physical charms to attract the women they desire. This creates dissonance for men who desire women because society says that those women are desirable but they lack the means to obtain the objects of their desires.

I was there about 20 years ago but I cleansed my soul of this brainwashing. I began to look at women, not for the narrowness of their waist or their expert skill at applying makeup or for their ability to choose the most fashionable attire or their taste in selecting perfume but for their qualities as people first and as the gender with breasts and hips and vaginas after. I am not saying I am perfectly cured as I still find certain women celebrities highly alluring (Beyonce and Kim Kardashian to name two) that I would never have a chance at sleeping with, but when it comes to reality I have zero interest in skinny bitches or painted whores.

If you looked at women as socially equal in every way then you wouldn't think of them as mercenaries.

 

In a large urban area, that's true. In a smaller town or on a college campus, even one with 20,000 students, you frequently run into a lot of the same people in social settings. That complicates everything.

I don't like for my hubby to wear a wedding band. He gets hit on a lot more often when he has it on. Having met at least one person's minimum standards for marriage apparently increases a guy's market value. I've seen waitresses flirt with him in front of me, when he was wearing his ring.

A woman can certainly be a slut AND a whore in my book. I consider them two separate things, and it may not be common that a woman takes on both roles at the same time. But just like someone can be an actor and a director, a girl can be a slut and a whore.

 

Complication is one thing. But does it stop a slut from being a slut? I believe a true slut will always prevail through adversity

Just in case anyone thinks I am contradicting myself about women just know that I think women are equals to men in every way and should not be shamed for a behavior that would be applauded at in men.

I am a believer in strict monogamy, but for men as well as for women. I also would not be comfortable in a romantic relationship with a woman who had had more than a handful of partners in her life or who had a kinky side to her. I also believe that swinging, open relationships and cheating are just wrong because in my mind they make a mockery of the institution and violate my romantic ideal of true love.

These are my personal preferences not my expectations of all people although I truly believe people can be happiest when they give themselves completely to one person.

If a woman is a slut, a man is a cuckold or a serial cheater I don't hate them or look down on them, I pity them and feel sorry for them and hope they figure out what I did.

 

Your argument is circular - a slut can't have ethics because you define a slut as someone who doesn't have any ethics. To be fair your definition is most consistent with the way the word slut has been traditionally used - although since very few people actually meet this definition I don't think it has much meaning other than as an ignorantly used insult by the bitter and resentful.

Its all semantics at the end of the day. The basic point is that society still has a lot of cultural baggage about sex and its possible to be promiscuous and open minded without abandoning all standards and morality. It doesn't really matter what term you use to describe such people - "sex positive", "wild women"... but one book decided to try and claim the word slut and give it a more positive meaning.

 

Oh, we definitely did our duty to maintain the reputation of our university as one of the wildest party schools in the American South.

There’s a fine line. If you don’t abandon most of societies morals and ethics regarding sex, then you cannot be a slut IMO. In such cases, you can be wild, sex positive, or any other plethora of terms, but not a slut.

I have a friend that we tease about her good ole slutty days. If you didn't know her 25 years ago you would never know today.

 

One of my old college friends has only been with about 35 or 40 guys, but she certainly earned the slut label during her single years. She used to have maybe 10 to 15 favorites that she fucked many times, in many different ways, sometimes two at a time. One of them ended up becoming her husband.

That hadn't been her game plan at all. She used to assume she would later meet and marry somebody who would never know all the dirty details of her wild phase; somebody "nice" who wasn't looking for a current or former party girl. Well, you just never know when you might meet the right person for you!

The funniest part of her story is the way that she kept her daughters so completely fooled when they were young. They had no clue that she had ever been different in any way from the mothers of any of their friends. Her own friends at church still have no clue, and they probably never will. She's good at all the social games you need to play in the South to be accepted by church people and country club people and corporate people.

When she's alone with her husband and/or hedonistic friends from her past, she can relax and be herself. She hasn't changed at all. Once a slut, always a slut at heart, even if not in practice.

I think it's sad that so many adults feel pressured to play these games. We have to deal with so many people like FX20736 who aren't comfortable with individuals having different values and lifestyles. We usually have no choice but to put on an act and convince them that we aren't different at all.

 

How about 'kinky'?

'Sex positive' would have been a dandy term if it had not been hijacked by feminists and made into the latest disguise of the Cinderella complex.

Edit: I also agree that we need a term with a negative connotation to describe unethical promiscuity (cheating, PDA, leading men on, gold digging, etc.). Promiscuity does not give you carte blanche to be an asshole anymore than prudishness does. 'Slut' does the trick for me.

Edit2: In the end, the quantity of partners a person has is morally neutral. It is their ability at reciprocity that counts in the moral sense.

I have very legitimate reasons for thinking the way I do.

 

I've spent a major portion of my life dealing with people like you who are 100% sure that you not only make perfect and flawless decisions for yourself, but also for everybody else. All you assholes know for a fact that absolute conformity is the key to life, so there is nothing left to debate, nothing to do but wage never-ending war against people like me who think differently and believe passionately in invididual freedom.

I ususally have to make a big effort to keep the peace with such people, because they are in the majority around here, but there's a part of me that wants to physically injure every last one of you.

Just know that I'm going to continue to do almost everything in a way that is totally opposite from what you "know" to be right, and there isn't one goddamn thing you can do about it.


Why the hell would I want to spend one second thinking about how to please you and meet your standards? Men like you are repulsive to me!
