The fact is is that isn't going to happen right away. So you gotta use the parties to your advantage to access this real energy. Plus, i party at places where people live together. But if you're talking about like communes in the modern college town it's just not gonna happen over night man. Usually the parties i go to are filled with about 50-60 people getting drunk and stoned, packed into a tiny little college apartment, full of people that i never really enjoyed hanging out with in highschool and with others that i don't even know. But i quite enjoy these scenes. Like i said, this is where it starts. You gotta use everything. You gotta use your own resources to your advantage. Sure the commune ideal is great, but is it relevant to whats going on all around you in the moment? It's not for me right now anyway. So i like to use these social scenes that are really just a giant collaboration of ego games, with a pack of cigarettes in hand, and sit back and observe, and contribute when needed. Every baby step counts. You gotta honor the subtle and seemingly small shit if you really want to make a large change. Usually revolutions brew beneath the surface ever so gradually that no one really notices and then suddenly it just explodes and everyone realizes that damn, things are different. I mean do what you want, but if you really want to make a change you can't be saying things like "such and such a situation is the only way". Think of how much you just limited your options. You gotta be the bridge between all the boundaries in society in order to allow them all to meld into each other. Sometimes it can be a really subtle process. Other times, quite explosive. It's like surfing. You just gotta ride the waves of manifestation.
We already have that type of thing in place, it's called voting. You going to re-invent the wheel next? Whoa, back the truck up my friend!! I have stated the exact same sentiment many times when discussing some of the things that we have in this forum and you ALWAYS take issue with it and contend that age and experience isn't as important to gaining wisdom and being able to help others as I say it is. Now it's a "good" thing because it fits in with this latest idea/post? it would appear you are contradicting yourself yet once again Desos. p.s. Desos I will say you do have a real gift for starting threads that get LOTS of responses.
psh like the house of representatives and political system isn't totally corrupted. they are far-off people that you don't even know that you somehow have to trust will have your best interests at heart. well they don't. all they care about is getting re-elected. for as long as the representative system is so impersonal it's going to fail. you can't accurately represent someone you don't even know. you can't even get involved in politics without having absurd amounts of cash. any system that is based around wealth is corrupted to begin with. haha. well, maybe it isn't such a bad thing. but again i think it is important to realise that the wisdom that someone has with experience is just a story, and a guide. not the absolute truth. haha. in real life too. for some reason i have this gift to be able to impact people's lives heavily. *shrugs*
Sure, people have the capacity to get greedy. I think if we continue at the rate of the last century for another hundred years, it might reach a point worth worrying about. But we've already slowed down, so it looks more like 2-3 hundred before any real parity is seen. And I don't really see any likelihood that it will really go past that to any notable degree. Guys have will too, and if things go too far there will be some backlash. There's already backlash, despite the fact that we are -far- from reaching an equal division of social control. Talk to me again when over 50% of the fortune 500 CEOs are women, rather then 3%. Then there'll be cause for alarm. This doesn't answer the question. This is telling us about traits that you feel would make a good leader, not how the leaders will be determined. How people will know such leaders and what mechanism will be in place to good leaders in power. As is, our system is very broken. I was asking if you had notions in mind that, if given the power to simply rewrite the system for choosing leaders yourself, you would implement. Yeah, I'm not really sure the value of the rave scene myself. I just mentioned it as the only space I see where people come together to share the psychedelic experience. You are talking more about commune-type situations? Could be cool. I've always found such communities to have a fairly cold front though. It's really hard to get involved. Be nice if they started doing more, I don't know, outreach?
yea, well if i was to be a bridge it would be a bridge to a place where people could be living together harmoniously and with dedication to eachother and a common good. but that is true that alot of places aren't there yet, and alot of them never will be. you can't get dragged under by the current. but you should still honor the present circumstances to be able to help anyone in any way you can. love is never wasted. Most of the cats that you meet on the street speak of true love, Most of the time they're sittin' and cryin' at home. One of these days they know they gotta get goin' Out of the door and down on the street all alone.
For instance, the apparent dominance of one group over another exists only by virtue of our agreements to have it so. We pay people for goods and services, rather than being good and serviceable. We elect representatives instead of representing.
So you are talking about decentralizing power a lot then. I mean, thanks to the Dunbar's number/monkeysphere effect, there's a limited number of people that each individual leader is going to be -able- to know.
You're the one who keeps talking about eat or be eaten. The urges to survive and procreate, thrive and recreate, are very strong and lead us to some strange actions. We're still working from a system of scarcity. Part of that several thousand year old panic/threat culture that ran off the tracks and out of control and never let go of the reins after the threat was gone. When really the only thing left of which there is a scarcity is social standing. Interpersonal power.
Shrug, I think it's a gift we all share, yet it's one that some have more access to then others. Have more activated. Now, a gift for activating that potential in others, that would be something.
You know Desos I hear you talk a lot about the need for revolution and social change, and you decry the negative elements in society and wish there was an end too suffering. My question to you directly is What are you DOING about it personaly rather than just talking about ending suffering? You can say all you want, but if you aren't acting on it, then you are just another gust of wind rattling the leaves. I mean how often do you actually roll up your sleeves and break a sweat to help others? As for me, I volunteer time weekly at a local food bank, just the other day I spent about 5 hours just cleaning up cardboard and baling it as others were putting together boxes of food that get handed out on a daily basis. Sometimes I have spent a day sorting through half rotten produce to save whats edible when they get contributions from local farms of surplus veggies. Some days it's handing out the boxes, others it's sweeping the floor. I actually could go on, but I'm really not comfortable because it seems as if I'm boasting, and I prefer to do the stuff in the shadows. We don't do it for the praise or accolades, we do it to give back and try to end the suffering of others in some small but real way. It may not be a revolution, but it IS helping make a difference in other people's lives.
Is it just me, or do you guys posts alot of stuff- that dont seems like youre under the influence of psychedelics very often.. I mean how you post such legible long winded stuff how could you possibly tripping.. I suggest you get to consuming some psychedelics right now, cause this thread seems out of control and youre not really practicing whats being preached.. DOSE and thats an order...
Well, I'm not tripping right now, silly. Why would I want to waste time on a computer while on psychedelics? So many more interesting things to do while in that state. Dance. Run through the woods. Meditate. Have awesome conversations. Act goofy. Have sex. Create art. Contemplate reality. Chat up Gods and Goddesses and get their phone numbers. Dye my hair pink(like I did last week). Work through the crap that's built up in my head. Dream up wild ambitions. Help others through bad experiences(something I spend a lot of time doing). Tell stories. Yeah, the internets are low on my list of things to do while tripping. Just, I'm not -always- tripping. Actually, due to money and access limits, responsibilities and goals, I trip quite a bit less then I'd like recently. Shrug. Still have dosed well over 200 times, and tried a very wide variety of materials. I'm actually now trying to picture what this conversation would be like if we all were dosed. I mean, aside from being pretty illegible.
this subject got so off topic... the oldest page is completly different than the newest one. just sayin but the origional topic is a really good one.. the blind portion of this society needs to be introduced the amazing world of psychedelics.. seriously (;
Lol. First we have Orison come in and accuse of us being too clear, and say we're not dosing enough. Now we are being pestered because we can't stay solidly on topic for 70 pages. Sheesh. Just can't win with you folks! Welcome to the conversation, pull up a chair. No need to worry about getting caught up, we're mostly rambling.
