dude, it's not even a revolution that we're seeking, what we seek is Authenticity man. That's what it's all about. Just being totally immersed in your existence and expression of it. Thick authenticity. Sometimes it just happens to lead to revolutions perhaps. But it's not like they will even last. Everything arises and then falls away again. Then again, in 1776 there was a revolution, and we still feel the effects of that today obviously. (and obviously you can argue this, but you get my point, if it wasn't for 1776 the US wouldn't exist). In my opinion i think we are in fact due for another revolution. But we shouldn't try so hard to rally the troops man. It's gonna happen regardless. It's more just about watching it happen. Allowing it to happen. From my perspective it's already happening even now. But i could honestly not even give a shit if there was no revolution. I'd probably just shrug and laugh at how off i was in my expectations for the past few years. But in the meantime i feel as though there's gonna be a big one. Huge. Cosmic.
meaning just as you said. When everyone thinks by means of "us" and "them" as I was doing, special interest groups are born and divide us further.
the point is that you can dabble with mental concepts all day but you really can't truly conceptualise those mental concepts without real life experience. because there is a difference between mental concepts and the integration of them into reality. yea i should say that some of the concepts that i said in that post are totally incompletly articulated, and i wouldn't want for anyone to take those things too far. sometimes our greatest fears are the things we have to face. and as far as pissing people off, alot of people get pissed off when faced with the truth because they don't want to face themselves. not that they should be brutally marauded with the truth, but there is a certain accountability that comes with being alive. and idk where the wannabe jesus christ thing comes from. so far i've been called a hippy idealist, a buddhist idealist, and a wannabe jesus christ. i don't make claims to being any of those things. well isn't the basis for a discussion two opposing viewpoints? the viewpoints being a body of knowledge? so then wouldn't the purpose of any discussion to be to convice the opposing viewpoint to understand your viewpoint and your body of knowledge? so far i don't see you doing any differently, but trying to convince me of your viewpoint. the point of this thread was to get the idea out there to anyone that might read it, and to create a discussion about it. if the times make the man, then how come reality is still the same as it was 1000 years ago, and it is still the same as it was 2000, 3000, or 4000, years ago? do you think that just because of the times we are living in that we are exempt from the ultimate truths of life? true, 'we' are always going to be outnumbered. but if you get enough people together it is possible to create a buffer. parts of society are so far gone that nothing can help them. personally i believe that life is too divine to not be embraced in this way, and that it is too special for it to be an impossibility. love triumphs through impossible odds. if there is a higher power, i have a hard time believing that he would abandon us to a destitute life. yes. alot. but i'm not condemning anyone because they don't have the same views as me. nor am i going to kill anyone over it. well sure i do, but also there has been alot that has changed since the time that you were a youth and the time now that i am a youth. there have been people making sacrifices every day for decades so that progress could be made. some of the things i've said here don't come apart from the counsel of people that are most likely older, wiser, and more experienced, than yourself. i'm not claiming to have any new ideas, it is an age old struggle. but at the same time from what i see the vast majority of people in today's world have fallen away from our true nature. so thus i used the word revolution, because it would require a revolution for anything to actually happen on a large scale. well would you rather to have unity and communion with the terrorists? there is an objective standard of truth. even apart from people claiming to know the real truth and condemning others. or people having blind faith in something they don't understand and being willing to do anything for it. i like what you said here. but if we don't rally the troops, then who do you think will? evil prevails when good men fail to act.
"Experience" is conceptual. It doesn't take a genius to realize that if you have an inherent duality (ecstasy/pain), that if you take away part of that duality (pain), and only reside in the other (ecstasy), then it loses it's meaning. We can only interpret things based on their opposites, there is no "eternal ecstasy" because ecstasy without any opposite ceases to be ecstasy at all, it becomes nothing. Oh, you certainly don't......not directly at least. The basis of any honest discussion is an equilateral exchange of ideas. Something like "I have something to teach you and learn from you, and you have something to teach me and learn from me". The way you have positioned yourself in this debate though and numerous other times in the past speaks of a denial of receptivity and a rigid adherence to conceptual ideals.....not a state of mind very conducive to learning. Like this for example Because reality today isn't the same as the past. You are superseding your belief over empiricism. And talking about the "ultimate truths of life" in a universal sense is perhaps the most repulsive, arrogant thing someone could do. What is your ultimate truth of life? Because today for some destitute 10 year old boy in China, the "ultimate truth of life" is finding something to eat to make his stomach stop hurting, finding water, and staying warm.
And just what is the human creatures true nature? Why do you feel that you are in some "higher" position to determine such a thing? Frankly speaking you don't know shit from shine-ola about what humanities true nature is in all-encompassing way, and niether does anybody else this side of death and even then we just can't say with any degree of true confidence. Anyone who says they do is a liar, delusional, or a con man out to get your cash. Like it or not Desos, THAT is the reality of it. Mellow out and accept the world as it is for what it is, and then maybe you will be able to see beyond yourself to begin to elicit real change that you seek.
Idealistically, yes i would, and that's all that i can really say at this point in my life. I would even want to have communion with Satan himself...with all "evil", which is only just a concept. Notice how, with perhaps the exception of Satan, but in the real world, nobody actually identifies as being the evil ones. It's always the other guys that are considered evil. Therefore evil is just a concept. As humans, in my opinion, we need to just throw away the dry and very plastic and shallow duality of good vs. evil. Why not mix the two together and just move on from there? That's something unknown and perhaps that's why no one will do it? But the only way to have peace on earth idealistically (is that a word?) is to have communion with the terrorists, in my opinion. I'm sure it won't actually turn out like that though. Again, i get what you're saying. and i can't really disagree with the rallying of the troops so to speak. But just throw away good and evil. That's gotta be part of the revolution itself. Throw away the shallow human duality that we're all so addicted to. Life isn't so black and white, wouldn't you agree? You gotta delve into the middle shades, the gray areas, the Twilight shades. Right? That is where the creativity and authentic fuel lies.
There can be no evidence for nothingness. Once evidence exists for nothingness the nothingness becomes somethingness.
