FACT: the other planets in the solar system are warming and cooling at basically the same rate as the Earth... it's that big ball of fire in the sky we call the SUN! Maybe we should just extinguish it, before it does any more damage?
gas 2.89, 1/4 lb homemade fudge 3.75, jar of homemade hot pepper jam $5, split bucket of squash/zucchini $3
The liter of gas here costs 0.60 dollar. Considering that a gallon it is 3.78 then 060 * 3.78 = 2.26 dollar.
Gas up a tad paid 2.94 yesterday BUT went to the station that was convenient rather than cheap ... 12oz bacon on sale was 2.98. frozen pizza was $6
Went to a pizza shop in upstate Pa the other day. The kind where you seat yourself and the waiter is some high school kid who doesn't introduce his or her self to you. A large mushroom Swiss cheese hamburger on a homemade bun with a huge portion of onion rings. Under $9.00. I couldn't eat it all.
That all sounded quite cheap to me. Then I realised that the UK price in kilos, so yours are quite a bit more expensive..
Fuel is more than £7.00 a gallon in the UK. People from the US, often do not realise that the price on our pumps is in Litres.
Prices(on everything) here(NL/EU) have been going up since the euro,slowly.........last few years(corona/energycrises/ect) it went much faster, we do get compensation(taxmoney) and everybody gets payrises(wich just makes everything even more expensive, sigh) This is what they call pure inflation imo.............Everything getting so expensive(Labour/Social/Education/Science/ect), it slows down the hole of society and progress. We are following the way of the US/FED(ECB) *sigh* For some reason the prices dont go down anymore(no crises).......... Mzzls
I was living in Amsterdam when the Euro became the official currency, and within just a few days all prices went up from being priced in Guilders straight to Euros. There was supposed to be a fixed rate, but it was commonly ignored, especially by the big grocery chains like AH. That was quite the sticker shock! My next trip to the Albert Cuyp Markt was a surprise indeed! And how about prices in Argentina @sureño ??? I'd sure like to hear about the trauma going on there with the new president.
According to many people in the states, it's Biden's fault. Of course every bad thing is Biden's fault.
United States Of The EU, that is what i am afraid off(by US/Fed example).....................I am not totally against the EU(politics/geo/coop)...................just dont like the ECB(central(banks)).. Doesnt matter left/right(politics).............the root problems stay the same(capitalisme/socialisme/?)..............be it the US or the EU(west) Mzzls
Right now the inflation rate is 25% at monthly. Gas is about one dollar per litre which is the international price. The problem is salaries keep about 500 dollars monthly. We are waiting the situation will get better.
I sure hope things do improve for Argentina! And for everyone else at the end of the consumer chain. Here's a thought, how about we all try to become PRODUCERS of things instead of just CONSUMING things.
I told my wife she could make bread and I'll sell it to the tourists in the near route. She thinks I'm crazy.
