The only change had in dying is that you are not alive. To change things you have to be alive. The only meaningful change is fundamental as we change our mind about what we see or what we will look for.
This identification is important because we all operate via self interest and our protections extend naturally to those things we call our own.
When the slave cemetery in New York was unearthed back in the 1990s, there was a forensic analysis of the remains and results were almost impossible to believe; Blunt force trauma, torn ligaments, broken bones, enlarged muscles, osteoporosis in children as young as 6, malnutrition, as If they were literally worked to death. Better suited? - interesting. Hotwater
Thanks, but this isn't about me its about the good folks in Ferguson MO who deserve justice. Hotwater
The reason Africans were enslaved is because of the tribal situation over there. Africans were capturing Africans and bringing them to the ports for sale. Those were different times. It seems to me that the only people who won't move on are selected whites (rednecks) and selected blacks. None of who were involved or impacted. I don't understand it to be honest. But this is one of the things that continually blocks societal progression as a whole.
You think those kind of cops only fuck with blacks? I would probably end up shot if I went to some place like Ferguson, MO and I am not a shoplifter or black. It is up to those people in those communities to forge their own justice. And from the videos I have seen of looting and destroying bus stops.. They are a long way from that. The best thing the black community can do is stop bringing harm to themselves.
Id be willing to place more money on the country coming together, Black, White, Yellow, Pink etc to fight a war that was started by big O the communist. He has fucked up so much shit and pissed off too many, In the end if we want 'our' country back we will all have to get along and fight for a reason. I don't see it as a bad thing either, If that's what it takes to unite a country who 'thinks' their color/race/creed/money status holds more clout. A millionaire can catch a bullet just the same as a white crack head in the gutter!
I certainly wasn't speaking of the outcome when I said that. More the initial mentality...as twisted as it may have been. And I don't justify any of it but I think it's important to look back on history and try to see what really happened...regardless of where the chips may fall.
I concur those cops would do the same to their own, but as you said in your previous post regarding slavery β itβs Tribal. We can kill each other in drive-by shooting until the cows come home, but when a white cop kills a black man β its war! Hotwater
The kind of fight that almost ensures that you get to live is peaceful protest. You may get something out of that one day. But mostly it's bowing at the feet of authority and asking for change. And you obviously can't even do that anymore these days because police will now fire on you to get you to break up the protest. The powers the be don't give a fuck about your peaceful protest or even your legal challenges (if you can afford a challenge). They appreciate your protests because those protests are of no consequence to them. They prefer peaceful protest over open warfare or the collapse of the system that props them up. But in the event of warfare....who do you think will be protected by the "authorities"? The smartest thing that I think the common person can do is to try to bridge the gap between the common people and law enforcement. They are only being paid to do a job that possibly many of them regret. When and if the shit ever goes down.....whichever side they are on will probably have an advantage.....they have families and they should be on the common persons side.
Trust me....we are well armed up here. I used to live down south. It's about the same from what I can tell. It's more an issue of ammo. I'm not sure who can get more right now. I'd guess it's about the same.
The kind of living that has the greatest chance for peaceful living is living peacefully. I find if I don't complain I soon have fewer complaints.
I live on the IA/MO border and pretty much everyone in the small town I live in to the bigger town I grew up in, We are not lacking for weapons and as mentioned, If it was not for all the practice, Ammo around here wouldn't be scarce. Gun value stays or goes up, Great investments, Plus in iowa you don't have to register, Just have permit(s) for what you want. MO is more lax and has more rifles in it because of hunting laws. Im pretty sure the people in MO have just as much as the cops, But are trying to get a fair draw. I just don't see where trashing you're area does any good and just like LA, Taxes went up and state is broke!
August 17, 2014 FERGUSON Mo. (Reuters) - Authorities on Sunday imposed a midnight curfew for the second night a row in the tense St. Louis suburb where an unarmed black teen was shot to death last week by police. They blocked off at least one street to vehicle traffic before the sun even set. The move came as scores of protesters had already begun gathering along West Florissant Avenue in Ferguson, the site of ongoing protests as well as violence and looting since 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot to death on Aug. 9. Officials plan to decide on a day-by-day basis whether to extend the curfew, imposed Saturday night by Missouri Governor Jay Nixon in an effort to quell protests and looting, Missouri Highway Patrol spokesman Justin Wheetley said. Hotwater
There is no reason why any place in this entire country should have a curfew under any circumstances. We say we are "free"? But only before a certain time of day? People are rioting? I don't agree with that action but it's a symptom of the problem....not the problem. Deal with the problem.
Doesn't always come across in writing. I take this subject very seriously, in part, because I live near a big city with a bad history of racial problems. Similar things have happened here, some of them bigger than the current crisis, and similar things could happen here again. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greensboro_massacre
Unfortunately the investigative process takes longer than the citizenry are willing to wait. They want an indictment handed down today, not a week from now. Hotwater
Be that as it may....I still see no legal reason to impose a curfew. It should be ruled unconstitutional. There should be no such thing as curfew. The police work for us and have no right to tell us where we can and can't be at any given hour.
