Haven't seen you around in a while. And yea, I think various people have said that what he said is pretty much THE definition of racism.










Anyways I was watching a show last night- Some female, black preacher-lady-Iyanla or something I believe her name is. Did anyone see her show in Ferguson? She said a lot of things that I have thought myself and know other people that have... but when she said them to some gang members in that area it seemed they were listening to her and she is trying to involve the hip hop/rap community. I don't know how much progress will actually be made but anyways... she was talking about changing messages.

So, Hotwater... her main premise and what I'm wondering what you think about this is... she was saying that black people in urban areas have been killing each other for so long that they have basically gave permission to the white police officers to kill them. Pretty much if you don't respect yourself... you expect respect? I think a LARGE part of real change would be the urban, black community changing within. That's not to say I don't believe the police in general should change too. Basically my stance is fuck the police and I will never take their side. They shouldn't be shooting people every anyways. Use a damn tazer if you have to. If it's really that bad. They don't HAVE to shoot. And the militarization needs to go. We pay their salaries.

Also, my own thoughts about profiling- young, black male profiling by the police. No it's not right, esp. when I hear of black men in business suits looking all respectable getting treated like gangbangers... but really let's think about profiling. In many urban areas, just to be real, it's not 50 year old white (or black!) ladies out there doing the killing and the selling crack.... who is it? So they are gonna profile the people who look like those doing the things. As I mentioned in, I believe, the OTHER thread on this topic, when I go to high drug areas in urban areas where many white people do not live, I have been profiled and stopped and searched because I FIT the profile of someone going there to get drugs.

seems to me that reverend manning is spot on .. to bad he speaks the truth. .something many wont understand. especially teh reasoning truths. I find it laughable how the very own race is offended by his truths. sometimes when the light is directly in your eyes. ,ya still deny the facts!! Its sad it really is. being leaderless and all.
