    Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Another wonderful artist of the same period. Read up on him ... he was a Pre-Raphaelite hippy!

  10. Because someone thinks of the Edge's guitar work being like one of Van Gogh's paintings.

    I have painted my own version of this.
    Shall I take a photo?
    Do you know the poem that inspired this painting?

    Good ...
    A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him saying, ‘You are mad, you are not like us’.

    Bringing this back to the top. This Waterhouse is really beautiful.

    The Lady of Shalott, by John William Waterhouse

    This painting is an illustration of Tennyson’s ‘The Lady of Shalott’
    And down the river’s dim expanse
    Like some bold seer in a trance,
    Seeing all his own mischance –
    With glassy countenance
    Did she look to Camelot.
    And at the closing of the day
    She loosed the chain, and down she lay;
    The broad stream bore her far away,
    The Lady of Shalott.
