maybe... are you trying to kill off lucky? i might have to join in your plans if she doesn't quit throwing my name around in every other post... every time i'm scanning a thread and see "brian" typed in a post it makes me do a double take, so needless to say i've been doing constant quadruple takes for the last couple days...
yeah you're an idiot. stopping benzos cold turkey can lead to seizures and even death. Benzos widrawal and alcohol withdrawal are the only two withdrawals that can actually be fatal. Know what you're talking about before you speak.
Yeah I made the post before reading the resf of the thread. Either way, people who minimize others' addictions are ignorant fuckers anyway. It's harder for some people than others, and even if it's not too hard to quit cold turkey, given the willpower and determination, but it's still dangerous.
... ... ... ...oh! were you talking to me!? actually that's not such a bad idea... hmmm, there's just so many great names to choose from though (yet i can't think of a single example right now...)
The thing I don't understand is, if you're an addict and you take benzos and drink, how can you say you're only going to drink three beers and stop. I remember when I used to do that stuff it would be very hard to limit myself to just a certain number, and I was never really an addict. I mean, even now it's hard for me to drink only three beers on some nights, and I only drink about twice per week. You would think if you were so addicted to this stuff, you'd be in a clinic or something where you can be supervised.
You would only be sharing the name with a select few, including my cat. Sure beats half the population of China.
] surprizingly ive been very good at it lately. all i have to do is REALLY WANT IT and i ALWAYS stop when i say stop...... okay sometimes ill have like one more.... its the keeping stopped that is a problem for me....
OK, so what kind of outpatient therapy are you receiving?? I always thought that people who are recovering addicts to benzodiazepines are treated in a hospital or outpatient facility, where they can receive support and be monitored?? Is this a new sort of treatment or something??
So here's where I am confused... You said your doctor said you could take the benzos and drink beer at the same time. Then you said it would be bad to wean yourself off both at the same time. But here's the thing... BOTH are depressants, so they both act essentially the same way. As a matter of fact, benzos are often given to recovering alcoholics. So why would you need to drink alcohol, when that only potentiates the effects of the benzos. This is where I am confused the most.
Matt.. Please.... geez.... as a matter of fact my neighbor invited me to a meeting next week and I'm going to go, even though I don't believe in those philosophies.... The treatment I'm giving myself is lots of b vits and omega3's and excercise. and all my doctor said is that if i was drinking a lot and need one or two for a few days then to go ahead.
