Actually, in the EU the penny is used less than the nickle, I remember because I had less pennies than nickles or dimes. And again, what's with Canadians and Americans hating on the 50 cent piece?? IT'S SO DAMN CONVENIENT!
If Ron Paul were to become president and abolish the IRS and taxes etc., Then all goods and services would end in dollar amounts, 1 dollar 4 dollars etc. etc. and we could abolish ALLLLLLL USELESSS COINS!!!!!
And personally, I love the 50 cent piece. Anything I purchase less than $1.50/1.49/1.48 etc. etc. but 50 cent pieces are hard to find???? It's a real bummer man....
LOL, I know, I've been collecting 50 cent pieces, you can get em at the bank but there's a limit to how many you can get. Also when I was 14 I bought like 6 of those " Canadian Coins " stands that have mint condition penny, nickle, dime, quarter, and dollar JUST for the 50 cent piece, the stand costed $3. But anyway I have 68 total 50 cent pieces, I use em sometimes but I mean they're brand new and shiny, I usually use em for jokes at grocery stores when something costs like 1.49 or 2.49 etc The cashier never knows where to put it but THEY HAVE TO ACCEPT!! AHAHAHAHA!!! :jester:
in the system you don't use pennies too much, rarely cash nowadays. i think that pennies are good in farmer's-market situations. you see people in 3rd world countries only using pennies, and they have like little sacks for them. i think that's cool. i like pennies.(completely wasted right now)
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
Why even get rid of pennies? why?.... just explain to me. why?..... i collect a lot of those, so in my eye i see these sticking around for a really long time.
Why get rid of a denomination currency that costs almost 3 times what it's worth and one with which you can buy nothing and proves a hassle to carry around so most people discard it?? Well....... And what keeps you from collecting a no longer manufactured currency? I still collect Canadian $1 Bills......they're not worthless they're just not made anymore...
Wouldn't that just make coffee more expensive? Forget it! Pennies are dumb, though. They're heavy, cumbersome, and worthless.
Pennies are absolutely worthless and should have been retired about 15 years ago. Everyone knows that the only reason they weren't is because of the Big Copper lobby.
Without pennies, how would I annoy bankers who piss me off on Friday afternoons. "Yes, I would like to make a deposit...."
I love rolling pennies in the parking lot!!! I try to see how far I can roll them. I tell kids that they can throw them in the parking lot and make a wish, they think it is cool. As far as keeping them they are worthless but I think they should keep them around so we can throw them in parking lots.
Its how strange how I never thought about the point of there being a penny or not. Now that I think about i its totally useless apart from making exact change which is still totally pointless.
All paper and coin money will be done away with eventually in favor of just checks, credit/debit cards, etc.. Seems that way will be alot better imo. I like snapping pennies. Trying to hit signs, mailboxes and such, ridding in the car.
Usually im specific about the type of pennies i collect, but now i don't care what kind. I just collect them.
