Apparently not if you're a member of the scumbag 'nasty sleaze party' !!! Tiverton and Honiton by-election: Tory candidate ‘told not to speak to media because of fear of partygate questions’ Helen Hurford is said to have been ordered not to do press because party bosses believe she will struggle when asked about Boris Johnson’s law-breaking Colin Drury Tiverton 2 days ago 28 Comments Helen Hurford (Conservative Party) The Conservative candidate for the upcoming Tiverton and Honiton by-election has been ordered not to speak to the media by senior party officials because they fear she will be asked about partygate, insiders say. Parish councillor Helen Hurford has been selected to fight the seat after former Tory MP Neil Parish resigned following revelations that he had twice watched pornography in parliament. But the former headteacher is said to have been told not to speak to press – because CCHQ think she will struggle to deal with questions about Boris Johnson’s lockdown lawbreaking. One local Tory says that anger about Downing Street shindogs is now so widespread in the rural Devon constituency that it has been decided Ms Hurford’s best chance of victory is to remain largely silent and hope the party’s current 24,000 majority carries her to victory. Strategists are said to have spent time workshopping a response to difficult questions but even the favoured option – to suggest the prime minister got things wrong but it is time to move on – is considered likely to antagonise voters in an area where integrity is expected to come as standard.
Nothing in that piece surprises me! The party hierarchy knows that its leader is a liar, a charlatan and a liability. Someone needs to grow a pair, stand up and announce that he needs to step aside for the good of the party! It is never going to happen I know, and would any successor be any better? I, like you, have seen many governments come and go. But never in my worst nightmare thought I would see the day where we as a country have become nothing short of one step away from dictatorship. Saddest and most worrying thing? A change of administration will bring no or very little relief!!!!!
If I park the tank on the south side of Westminster Bridge at Midday on a Wednesday when the 'house' is sitting, with the gun pointing across the river, - all the scumbag 'nasty sleaze party' will be there and we'll get 'em all !!!
This is a great topic, and I have sooooo much to say, especially because I'm a part-time archivist who spends a lot of time extrapolating information, but I've been very sick for 5 days, but I'm not one of those laying down types, even though I'm so exhausted, body aches, coughing, etc.. To me, this is more of an in-group vs. out-group. I remember when the same arguments existed. The only thing has changed is instead of Democrat, it's Republican. It's just like Big Tech. It's too bad, because an hour ago, I was listening to George Lincoln Rockwell thank the liberals for the tradition of free speech, and how conservatives are too chicken. Protecting speech that they hated. Just like in Skokie. The ACLU suddenly supported vaccine mandates, which is completely against civil liberties, but they know it's mostly Democrats who support them, so it's like our party primaries.. It's like becoming pregnant and trying to fall in love as rapidly as possible. The conformity is killing me, and I don't see a difference between either party. When the party changes, suddenly the people change? Very weird... My opinions haven't changed much over the years, only priorities, but it's funny - that chasm between perception and reality, simply based on a few words. If you complain about gas prices, you are likely to be _____, and if you complain about those who complain about gas prices... you know. Too simplistic for me.. I also remember the "Don't like it, start your own corporation" and again, the political parties in the US just alternate. What's next? "Don't like it, start your own country!" Even for historical purposes, Google won't allow shit from 1964, citing "hate speech" and when I appealed, they didn't give me a place to explain (by THEIR terms of service) why it was completely wrong, but they just responded within a few hours with "Appeal Denied", when it wasn't an appeal... Personally, I like to watch/listen/read radicals. The more, the better. And I love to compare the present to the same conversations taking place 50 years ago, and to see how we got to this place. The biggest problem with censorship is that you don't even have a chance to decide for yourself if you want to keep watching, turn it off, become an activist, whatever. It's very condescending, this idea of, "We know what's best for you more than you do", which is fascism, but that's tolerated when the guy has a blue tie, when in reality, every President in my lifetime has been a right-winger, and morons actually ruined the word liberalism with wrong associations. When an adjective becomes a noun, it has no defense. And this is why I never use these adjectives when describing myself. It could be very misleading, and I've done a few little social experiments. I could never be a member of a group that has members
