Excellent observation. It's really not unusual, most people seem to harbor negative preconceptions of Anarchism. Education really is the most urgent issue of our day... ZW
Interesting, I came to be familiar with Noam Chomsky through my appreciation of language. I had come to see that propensity for language was an endowed instinct of my own accord and someone said hey that sounds like, yada.. Your praise itself is an element of a manufactured consent. Manufacturing consent is a cultural imperative accomplished through taboo and hero worship. Thought, ideas, are common property.
Yeah shit, I worded it wrong... I should have said "perhaps the most important man speaking on the subject today..." Happy? Someone could manufacture my consent with taboo and hero worship? Oh the Horrors! Oh BTW the phrase "...endowed instinct of my own accord..." is practically gibberish, Mr. language appreciation. ZW
Did you? I don't think it changes the formula but happiness, I don't feel, is a matter of circumstance. Why don't we hear meaningful words on anarchism, listen to Noam Chomsky because . . . , why the preamble, why not just, here is what this guy said? Did you not understand what I said? I'm not sure if practically means almost gibberish. I'm not sure you can even practice gibberish. Language appreciation doesn't necessarily translate as, student of English grammar. Thank you.
Yes, hastily worded. Because he is more than just some guy. He is well regarded and has been an important figure in Anarcho-syndycalism for decades. If anything, I should have written an even more lengthy preamble, for the uninformed 'dear reader' of course, that has no idea of Noam Chomsky. No, I gotcha... It's just that "instinct" is at odds with "of my own accord" is all. ZW eace:
oh zombiewolf, don't worry we're just gearing up for a fundamentalist anarchism you will be re-educated, and then you'll never speak a wrong word again
I would support anarchism in America if it meant that I could walk naked where ever I pleased and not get arrested. But I don't want to be the only one mowing my lawn in the buff. I would need everyone on this forum to join in to make sweeping social change.
Would a comma before the words, of my own accord, make it more intelligible? I'm asking because I would like to know how to express that thought more effectively.
Well, you could have said something like; 'Chomsky's theory's accounting for linguistic variation via the most general possible mechanism and his approach to the study of language emphasizing an innate set of linguistic principles shared by all humans known as universal grammar ...well, I already knew that...' ZW
It seems kind of awkward put that way as well. How about, I was led to Chomsky by virtue of his language theories as opposed to his thoughts on anarchism?
Not just me, everyone else too! The way I see it: if no one else is wearing clothes, then you can't really be naked can you? Anyway do you want to make the human body illegal?
