MAN I REALLY WANTED TO ARGUE BACK! But, I agree with most of your post Sera. I'm gonna go check outside now. In Revelations they say something about locusts when this happens. LOL
LOL! I'm glad we can agree on something! Let me know what you see outside. If we're being swarmed in locusts I gotta bring my catnip plants inside.
No locusts. I did see some college students making out. It would be REAL funny if the locusts came now. BUSTED!
Not to make you guys any more irate than you already are - but I think (and please don't take this out on Christian in general; or worse yet, drag in a dead past) it is kind of sad that our younger generations percieve no problems but the people who actual can percieve problems. If you are going to use Christ as an example, then include this: that He got up on the wrong side of the bed one day and zapped a poor defenseless fig tree. Why? It should have been fruitful, but was sterile instead. If any of you truly believe you know what love is, and that no one has the right to challenge that belief, then this is my challenge to any one of you - to produce here in this forum, in black and white, an actual "definition" of love, and nothing other than an actual definition. This post was originally put forth in the spirit of lifting up what is good in mankind. It was a personal comment - but like many issues, was taken the wrong way; or pushed the wrong way because of the words used.
agreed, most people i know who are like that are not christians, and most people who are the opposite are (that i know)
Love: 4 a : unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another: as (1) : the fatherly concern of God for humankind (2) : brotherly concern for others b : a person's adoration of God As you can see, I'm leaving a few sections of the definition out. The word "Love" is used for many things. Perhaps we need a few more words for it, like eskimos and snow? I think your problem is crediting the christian faith for something that God causes everywhere, even in places without the christian faith. You also ignore the problems that the Christian faith is a part of. Not really. You only look at the Christian faith and only focus on the good that it does. It's like you are hyping your own faith and ignoring the good of other faiths (and individuals of no particular faith), not to mention that you ignore the corruption of your own (in your comment). Crediting the Christian faith with something that is worldwide just doesn't seem right. You could credit God instead.
