It's landing me in trouble... but I don't care

I care about the fact that society is one big lie and I am almost powerless to do anything about it.

I kind of have stopped thinking about it as of late, so I can't articulate it as well as I use to but I feel as if we live in an enormous centralised, standardized machine, where everything, from food, to labour, to human emotion has been reduced to a pile of garbage that can only be defined by dollars and cents. Or pounds and pennies if you would prefer.

Basically, I think the government is useless, I don't like the idea of working 40 hours a week just because our society has a need to manufacture, package, transport, advertise and trade everything, with paperwork to go along with it, I don't like the idea of billions of unique people being governed under the same laws, I don't like the fact that we have little time or energy to understand each other or have compassion.

I care about this stuff, and I never seem to stop caring about it. Although I completely understand why you would not want to care, and I think you are all the wiser for it.

 

i think learning not to care can be important, and yet i don't give a shit.

 

I care about my feelings.

When I wanna be bad, I am.
When I wanna be good, I am.

 

I care about almost everything, but like most people I'm pretty good in letting go of the things I can't do anything about (or I easily say about I can't do anything about them..). Society is not one big lie, it's just far from perfect, but it has been changed by people who seemed powerless in the past.
The older I get the less I care about pessimists and crybabies though.

That's a lesson I really need to learn My problem is that I care too much.

i just got burned out on the caring thing. it wasn't some path to enlightenment or salvation. i just got tired of being the only one who did care and just sorta stopped.

 

anyway, what i do care about is my family. my pets next (since my kids would be devastated if anything happened to them), my friends after that. everything else just sorta depends on the day and whether or not i've gotten any sleep.

i rather care about people and shit instead of caring about being a "not caring" kind of guy... it's like you are a daria fan.. phew

everyone cares about different things, i care about fewer things than a lotta people. i just put more emotion into fewer things than most and people tend to wig out over it.

 

If you think about how one day the human race will become extinct and the planet will shake us off like a bunch of ants..

Yeah. Everything becomes less important.

 

In about 6 billion years time. More than enough time to care about something and find things important, imho.

 

We're still fucked.
