Human traffic, amazing film, love it to pieces. Actualy i'm a bit of a 90s social realism junkie, but I loved the way the film seemed to give one message, a message Jip tells us when he's wasted:
'Ultimately, we just want to be happy'
And think about it, we do! You can take this hedonistically or you can take it as moral happiness but at the end of the day every boils down to how happy you're going to be. Why do I go to festivals? Because they make me happy. Why do I have 5 piercings? because they make me happy. Why do I want to go to university? Because it'll get me out of this place so I can be happy. And what the hell is happiness anyway? Ultimate euphoria? A sense of well-being? Knowing you've done the right thing. I think happiness is spontaneity, it's exactly what E does to you, serotonin flooding you brain, a silly grin on your face, being with people who, you know, get you. The last time I was truly happy was probably Sunday evening of shambala. Chemical happiness, but I was happy. Last week at the party I had that small glimpse of happiness. I'm not depressed, far from, I'm just not getting the feeling I crave. I think if love=happiness the it's love that I'm missing. Yes, that's it, I'm missing that mutual, friendly, I can phone you at 3am love. And that's why I'm not truly, truly happy.

The other point from the film was that the way you're bought up doesn't stop you from doing drugs. If my parents knew I'd even smoked weed they would be incredibly disappointed. I didn't do it to rebel, to disappoint them, in fact my parents were the last people I was thinking of. I was thinking about me for a change, my happiness and my escape.

I pretty much think the same thing, apart from the love bit.. if it happens, great, but I don't *need* it to be happy.

I meant platonic love rather than romantic. Starting to get to me that I have mates rather than friends

 

Ahh.. yeah, I can definitely count my true friends on the fingers of one hand.. there's, um.. 3 :leaving:
Other than that it's uni mates, housemates (who I may or may not even get on with), aquaintances, etc.. probably at least a hundred, but none I'd tell stuff to.

I fell asleep at 4pm yesterday and woke up at 8am. Still sad though, clearly 'sleeping on it' does nothing

Ooh and I got my blood group through the post today, I'm an A rhesus Negative, my parents are both A pos!

Using the national blood website this means you have A antigens covering your red blood cells and B antibodies. So this makes your blood group A. The positive bit means you have rhesus antigens also in your blood, therefore making the blood A positive.

Can you tell I wanted to be a phlebotomst for a while?
