    Ooh you brave!
The only vaccine I ever had was meningitis C. I had that when there was a lot of it going around, I was about 12. A few years before Id had a very similar illness, I cant remember what it was called, but I had the biggest headache ever, couldnt look at lights, couldnt move my neck or back and felt really ill really quickly and was taken to hospital, so my mum thought itd be wise to do. Havent had TB or any of that stuff. Does that one really leave a big scar?

I've got a little scar from my BCG, they don't offer that round here now, low risk area apparently (and what heppens if you move to a high risk area??). I also had my tetanus, diptheria and polio boosters in year 9 I think, ended up having one in each arm cos they'd run out of the 3 in 1

We had the meningitis C in year 5, I rememer this boy called Corey fainting then throwing up at the sight of the needle, bless him.

Last one I had was meningitis C, in year 7.. they rushed my school to the first in the county cause a guy in my class (who sat next to me  ) got it.

After that, I figured out I could refuse on "ethical grounds" and there was sweet fuck-all they could do about it :D

I duno, neither me nor Scott are vaxed at all really and there have been cases in the news of TB and stuff around here, but were both still alive!

Luckily my needle fears didnt spring up until I was about 17, way after my meningitis jab. My arm was sore for weeks after but I didnt cry or anything:cool:

Well only be very selectively vaxing our child but dont tell the in laws

Eh.. if my kids *want* vaccines they can have 'em.. otherwise I ain't gonna force them.

But that's pretty much a moot point since I'm not likely to have offspring.

Its worthwhile at least getting the MMR if you ask me, I had a friend who was really, really poorly with measles because they didn't have it and ended up in hospital.

The MMR concoction will be going nowhere near me, Scott or baby! I think I may have actually had measles as a kid, dont remember it though

It was proven that there wasn't a link to autism btw.

Oh and I'm really, really fed up of people not understanding my surname of all things when I say it, my surname's really simple but I can't seem to say it clearly

Of course it was proven:) All manner of things have been proven. The vaccine generates money. They sell it. Concerns are "proven" false

Although I personally cant "prove" either way on the autism front, a simple glance at what they admit the ingredients of such a mixture are is enough to set off my alarm bells, whilst remembering that what this thing supposedly protects against is not fatal and usually passes through the system with no damage

I like to make informed decisions rather than take what they tell you on the news as fact

Eh, my parents had measles as children, I didn't get the MMR.. all I really got were the ones the hospital tries to sneak in before the mum's come round from the anaesthetic from the caesarian..

And you're quite right Maxi.. if you look at the studies that proved no causal link, you'll find they were funded either wholly or partly by companies like GlaxoSmithKline or Pfizer.. that's sort of like 'New research done by scientists at Benson & Hedges says there is no link between smoking and lung cancer. Honest.'

Don't be so sure.. efficacy rates do vary from vaccine to vaccine but they can be as low as 30%..

The guy in my class that got meningitis had had the vaccine in America the year before..

    Exactly
I wonder how many parents even bother to check whats actually in that needle, how much its been researched, who researched it, all that stuff, before getting their babies injected. The fact is the vast majority dont. They just hear the doctor or the telly or a friend or someone say they need to if they want to be good parents and they do it
