    Worf was a great addition

I enjoyed the whole religious experience The Emissary of the Prophets, the Celestial Temple, the Bajoran Orbs, like the Orb of Time which brought us Trials and Tribble-ations [IMG]

Fair enough, I've watched the Original series along side some of the next generation also. Everyone has there opinion, I thought enterprise was the most entertaining especially near the ending. This is why i don't let fans of big franchises try to tell me what is good or not because I end up finding out years later its actually really good and it's just some being typical fanboys. Different taste that's all.

Lmao and yes Jolene Blalock was another good reason to watch haha.

I just watched the movie "Kill Command" which is a so so movie, but where it stands out it that apparently it only cost 1 million to make, but the CGI looks fantastic for such a low budget

My point being nowadays if they can make a movie look like that for just a million bucks, what are we in for with this series.

Of course characters, script and stories are more important than CGI, but it helps if the CGI looks flawless

But we know the show already has Meyer and some other scriptwriters with some cred, that and the vastly improved CGI of nowadays, I'm getting pretty excited about this show

I wish someone would go back and do a "Lucas" especially with the first season of TNG and redo the CGI, because it all looks pretty hokey

I found Enterprise to be rather entertaining almost good as TNG. Hopefully this new series is done exceptionally well. Sadly I will not be watching it until reruns are up either

I'm willing to give Enterprise another chance, but is there any way I can edit out Scott Bakula, it's painful to watch his insipid, cardboard acting.

I'm watching the very first pilot star trek episode, "The Cage/The Menagerie" and realized why Enterprise failed and why this new Star Trek tv show may also fail, they will be the only shows Majel Barret isn't in (well she was in 2 eps of Enterprise, but...)
She was in almost every tv episode since the pilot and the movies except the last one.

Won't be the same without her.
    :(

Her passing was unfortunate but IMHO no more than Angelique Pettyjohn (the voluptuous bombshell) in the Gamesters of Triskelion.
She was one of those girls that every guy that met her had to jerk-off to her at least once.

I'd just like to say that star trek TNG sucked dick.

They took a franchise and turned it into PC propaganda tool. I'm expecting more of the same.

    Uhmmm, a PC propaganda tool?
    that was Roddenberries intention from the start;
    a mixed race crew
women in positions of power and authority
    questions regarding religion and humanity
questions about all kinds of political/social issues is one of the things that set Star Trek apart from all the other crap on TV and actually is why it was rejected at first.

A Star Trek show being "too politically correct"....LOL, you are familiar with the show, aren't you?

Not really sure how some actress that was in one episode compares to one that was in damn near EVERY episode across all the different tv versions and the movies, beginning with the very first rejected pilot up to Star Trek 2009.
I guess you missed that point. Has nothing to do with looks, has to do with longevity.
plus she was Gene's wife. ;)

I completely get your point and it’s valid, but her passing does nothing for my hormones whereas Angelique Pettyjohn is a cult figure and was a brief porn star

I'm aware of the original show

Lots of elements, such as the multi-ethnic crew and Russian crew member were pretty rad for the day.

It was still about a straight white guy running the show and fucking the shit out of hot alien chicks.

I'm not against a show that would be mainly about a manly captain chasing hot alien chicks but it al depends on the details: for many who grew up with TNG the original series is just too dated scifi and tv even though some of the episode premises on their self sound awesome.
TNG may took a different approach (although not really different from the creator's original intentions for this show) but to say it sucked dick.... I guess you looked at it from a different perception than me. On the other hand: I find it very likely that if I had to get into TNG now for the first time it might not have the same impact on me as when I watched it in my teens. But then TNG and Voyager where pretty much the greatest things ever (where it comes to tv series anyway ;))

Star Trek TNG was absolutely fantastic.[IMG]

At first I was disappointed they killed off Tasha Yar (Denise Crosby) but after listening to her interview and how miserable she was on the show I understood the necessity

The recent success of The Force awakens has proven that fans themselves don't even know what they want. A lot of star wars fans online used to complain about a whole bunch of nonsense, but then when given a remake of Episode IV, they lapped it up.

With the recent start trek movies, many complained, but even adjusted for inflation they made more money than the older movies.

What's likely to be most successful with this series is TNG or Voyager mark 2

I think the two new Star Trek movies are very good. Another to be released soon.
