I'm new to the forum, but I'm a native North Carolinian. I live in between Sylva, NC and Balsam, NC. My zip code is Sylva, but I'm 5 minutes from the Haywood County line. I love it here and wouldn't live anywhere else!

I live in Fuquay-Varina, which is 30 minutes south of Raleigh. The best place I've ever lived by far is on the northern California coast, and this place cannot even begin to compare to it. Maybe if I lived in Boone or Asheville... Anyhow, if you're anywhere near me and want to hang out... I've lived here for five years, and I've hardly met any "cool" folks for the amount of time I've been here. I'm 36, single mom to my 6-yo son, and going to school. Let me know...

And here's hoping that the Nationals are in NC this year. I'll finally get to go! Been waiting ten years to "go home." ...

 

Fletcher is my home. It's located midway between Asheville and Hendersonville. We moved to this area about 9 years ago. Our daughter and her partner run a very successful bakery in Hendersonville http://undergroundbaking.com/. Our son and his wife also live nearby. She's a teacher and he an artist (potter) We originally hail from upstate NY but migrated here from Sedona, AZ only to discover a half brother living in Brevard.

What I love about this area for one thing is the plethora of music of every sort imaginable. Perhaps our favorite event is the annual Mountain Song Festival but we've also attending concerts at Brevard Music Center and the Asheville Symphony.

I lived in winston salem last year. went to city hall and got a permit to busk.. didnt make a whole lot but i had a normal job too.

EAT AT BOC!!! the breakfast club is fuckin delicious, esp with some of that chipolte tobasco. tell all the lovely waitresses that ex line-cook kevin say's hi.

Lexington here. Home of BBQ and a shitload of ceramic pigs.

 

lol, we have a diner here in greensboro with pictures of all the pigs. the owners must be from lexington.
