^Word...music appreciation is subjective. To somebody - the music is good. I just hate when genres are combined that are completely different. As in radio hiphop opposed to REAL hiphop.

While I will say that anyone that listens to Lil Wayne as a source of insightful lyrics is a joke, I don't say anyone is lame for appreciating or liking Lil Wayne for what he is - dance music or music to bump.

Same thing goes for a lot of different genres.

wow SRSLY you believe that... Maybe you have been listening to to much emo...
rock and roll (true rock) is all about allegory and symbolism
    Your crazy end of story...
Rap seems to be rotting the youth of today to the core I have seen since the real rise of rap as a mainstream pop music the younger generations the generations of my brothers and sisters and their brothers and sisters thinking that selling crack can make you rich. I have seen sixth graders getting in trouble for writing notes about giving blowjobs and asking how to get condoms. I have seen elementary school kids smoking weed.
For christ sakes the most popular rapper right now has a song named pussy money weed. THIS HAPPENS TO BE MY LITTLE BROTHERS FAVE RAPPER
I am disgraced to see that my parents do not pay attention to the message the music is conveying anymore. This stems further than mainstream rap though its in mainstream pop and rock now to. It used to be about change in the world. Now its about more of the same pruponenting this gangsta lifestyle or the rock star life style its complete bullshit. kids are now brought up to see these images of hollywood actors partying all night getting drunk and disorderly putting out sex tapes.

    Bring back the responsible people

Edit: Im a huge dilla fan myself same with doom and madlib. However for the most part hip hop is dead. Dilla doom and madlib were around in the 90s making their music

Lil wayne aint hiphop - hiphop isn't dead - hiphop has nothing to do with all those issues you listed above.

madlib is still around, mf doom is still around, hiphop continues to live and the freshmen of 2009 are prime examples of the direction of the genre.

Again - LIL WAYNE IS NOT HIPHOP

i don't know really, because technically everything around us could be considered Cosmic.

I suppose it would be a blend of Progressive and Psychedelic rock but with the rebellious edge and attitude of Punk. Going very much along with it would be the epicness and sheer largeness and the darkness of bands like Led Zeppelin and other so called "heavy metal" bands.

So it like has a psychedelic nature for sure, but more god-like than the san francisco bands, and this god-like-ness also happens to have a Johnny Rotten attitude of sorts, and it includes like the experimentation of like Pink Floyd.

I could also see bands like these playing at epic ass locations. like hold a Woodstock kind of concert live at the Egyptian Pyramids. And again though, i like to use this word a lot, but it would be more Epic than Woodstock. It wouldn't dismiss in any way the peace and free spirit of the atmosphere of Woodstock but it would include with that the atmosphere of going to like an AC/DC or early Pearl Jam concert or something like that.

And just like imagine like in 2012 all of these people make this Pilgrimage to the Pyramids or like the top of Mount Everest or something where this huge concert is being held, and we're like calling to the skies to show the Universe that we're awakening and like these UFOs fucking come and it's just this amazing fucking moment. hahaha. it'd be great.

i could go on forever about this, but i guess these could be some characteristics of something called Cosmic Rock, and it would include a nice collage of the light and dark sides of the universe, the simplicity and the sheer power of it all. It would be something that no one ever conceived of existing before it, and it would be music that no one thought was possible.

    sorry for the rant :D

  17. This sounds pretty true. Also rap will be gone. Rap is all dance music now anyways. There's really no such thing as rap anymore. If you want real, intelligent, and profound rap you'll have to tune into your local artist or anyone involved with the underground scene.

something huge is definitely happening soon on atleast a global scale. so music will no doubt have a big impact and a big shift, rising up from the underground as always.

but once our divided state of consciousness becomes realized globally, then we'll only look up from there, and that's where i think UFOs will come in, and so that's part of the reason why i think it will be Cosmic.

going along with what someone said about the return of Jesus, i could see something very religious happening maybe around 2012? i don't know what that means really, but i just feel like if we are going to collectively realize Oneness then all the questions, disagreements, and seperations of society over the Millennia are going to rapidly be answered and realized almost overwhelmingly all at the same. not necessarily in an INSTANT, but in a very close interval

So much shit is gonna go down soon. whether we make it out alive or not is another story. but does anyone feel me?

so no doubt, music is going to be huge once again like it was in the 60s.

and like Slight Return said, let's hope we can handle this Cosmic channeling of energy and let's hope it doesn't get too crazy. Peace and Love :)
