I have not been, but when money gets involved, doesn't/wouldn't that change the nature of any study of the attendees? And wasn't it free to begin with?
In a case of a human spirit festival such as this, paying for admission kind of disposes you to try and get your moneys worth. It lends a level of seriousness to the project. You ask a very good question. There are essential services that must be provided. I don't know if it began as a free event but I do know that if you are really serious about going and you have a financial hardship there is some way to apply for discounted tickets. I think it is around 600.oo per person. I haven't been there but am associated with the festival circuit.
