I'll have to check it out.

I may not like most east coast rappers because of their choppy style, but one of those songs I posted, "Purple", features Beanie Segal and he has a fuckin awesome verse about codeine/promethazine in that song.

nesta, I just listened to some Jaylib on youtube and he definitely has some serious lyrical capabilities, but again, I just don't like the flow, for some reason.

haha, I'm not really a fan of him either, I just inserted it because of the cocaine thing lol

but man... most (or maybe even all of) my favorite rappers are from NY/the east coast.

    what about wu-tang?

man did you listen to pillz??

its a good album, but weak at points. its also not east coast, really. its a duo - j dilla (detroit) and madlib (from california)

anyway, you gotta listen to the right ones for it to be good. its a little hit and miss, like i said, but the hits are phenomenal, imo.

check out these: the red, react, the raw shit, pillz, strip club, strapped

anyway, madlib has done some better shit. check out ANYTHING quasimoto, but its real different. experimental hip hop, super-psychedelic. check these out: don't blink, maingirl, closer, bus ride, basic instinct, low class conspiracy, put a curse on you, axe puzzles, discipline 99 pt.1, green power, and bullyshit

quasimoto is an alias of madlib, a character he made up. it's literally just madlib rapping through some kind of voice distortion. usually there will be both madlib and quasimoto rapping on the same track, and i've never heard of quas appearing on a track that madlib didnt produce. there are no known photos of quasimoto, and he doesn't do live shows. because he's madlib

i can see what you mean descriping that as "smooth"

none of the lyrics pop out and hit you, its easy to listen to it without listening to it. the beats seem to stay the same once started, and the flow is steady, monotonous and (imo) kinda boring.

not that i think it's bad, just not my taste. i could expect i'd think it was pretty sweet it i was really stoned, or it could be good background music. but i didnt find those to be very interesting on their own.

This is Lord Infamous/Scarecrow. You may find him to be a little different. He's probably the most agressive rapper I've ever heard and some of the lyrics will DEFINITELY stand out. haha

I like the beats and they would probably be awesome songs to listen to while tripping, but that Quasi shit almost sounds like some Eminem shit; the lyrical style and even the voice, at some points. When I'm listening to rap, I usually prefer some shit that's a lot more violent/rough, but with a smoother flow.

Yeah man, the best Shpongle song I've heard while tripping is "DMT". I was listening to it when I was on 40mg of 2ce and 15mg of 2ci, and I actually had an out-of-body experience, during which I saw myself being engulfed by an octopus' tentacles, then the octopus morphed into a tree and let me go. haha It was some crazy shit.
