Ok, no one mentioned Butthole Surfers.. I'll let that slide, but no Soft Machine?!? If you're into trippy tunes, check out the song "Out Bloody Rageous", or the album "Spaced". IMO, way trippier than Floyd, Beatles, Doors, etc...

I think I'd hafta say that the trippiest song i know would be Echoes - Pink Floyd, orrrrrrrr Welcome to the Machine - Pink Floyd. Careful With That Axe, Eugene is pretty crazy also.

 

depends what kinda psychedelic that you're looking for..
i like the beatles when i'm just chill (i am the walrus, a day in the life, tommorow never knows, lucy in the sky with diamonds)
but for pure intense psychedlia (sp) i'd have to go with deeply disturbed by infected mushroom. the song is 12mb and only 8min long. if ur downloading this song make sure its the highest quality one available. listen to it with headphones, in a dark room and turn it up.

 

That EYE know is Count V's classic "Psychotic reaction", but then there are tens of thousands out there!

The Beatles "Strawberry Fields Forever" has the nicest lyrics for tripping, really relaxing and beautiful...

the actual meat of the song doesn't kick in until about the :45 mark, but it's immense when it does. the nigh-unintelligible lyrics succinctly depict the moral discipline of doing chores followed by getting stoned and going out in the rain.

 

I listen only psycedelic music all the time and the songs are all different at different times. It all depends from the state of your mind at the moment you are listening it. So most of it is THE MOST PSYCHEDELIC songs. Like Shpongle a lot and I call it very natural music.
Recently I came across very interesting song its called Becool artist Osom and its mind blowing.
But there is also so many good songs that are not categorised as psychedelic music.

experienced? - by Jimi Hendrix. Man, i always get flashbacks when i listen to these songs.
I did not understand what psychedelic music was about until i took my 2nd or 3rd trip. I'm a big fan of psychedelic music ever since, especially Hendrix. This guy really knew how to take you on a ride when on acid, he is like a shaman or magician.
There a lot more trippy Hendrix songs beside - third stone from the sun - may this be love - are you experienced? - but these where among the first i heard by him when on acid and was really blown away by them.

 

Mandrake Memorial was a good band anything by them was trippy,The Mothers and "Who are the Brain police"...Jade Warrior "Masai Morning" Catapilla and "Charing Cross. And last but not least Cream and "Sweet Wine.
