I am one of those crazy "punk" people. Flogging Molly is also one of my favorites of all time. Personally I think the Sex Pistols music was over rated. I love Sid Vicious as much as the next person but Their music was never my favorite. If we're talking late 70's punk I'd choose the Clash over the Sex Pistols any day. The energy at a real punk rock show is something that you can't experience anywhere else. I can't even explain it. You just have to feel it. The bands I like actually have MUSIC. It's not just crazy loud shit. I don't like metal at all. I hate that just loud, banging, screaming and growling. I don't understand that either. Have you heard of The Horrible Crowes? They are on the mellower side. I wouldn't consider them punk at all but when I'm in a mellow mood I like to listen to them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsnlde5RG2o"]THE HORRIBLE CROWES - Blood Loss - YouTube
I still listen to a good deal of Dead. I have 36 Dick's Picks albums and usually put them all on shuffle and let it go.
I've been to lots of punk gigs but... mostly with a very strong ska influence, like LTJ and [spunge] and.. I mean I've been to a lot of gigs in my life so I'm sure I've seen some heavier punk bands in there SOMEWHERE lol But yeah erm, on the topic again of the hippy tracks, I just wanted to share this masterpiece https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tow8WBuX1wc"]Shpongle - Nothing Is Something Worth Doing - YouTube If the quality isn't good enough on YT, try this: http://grooveshark.com/s/Nothing+Is+Something+Worth+Doing/4uE63K

Tame Impala and Half Moon Run. Both very good modern Bands. Tame impala plays much more like Floyd and Beatles. Half Moon Run has a more modern feel to it but they are amazing live and they are just starting out so they have a bright future ahead of them.

To me this sounds like Proto Punk... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXOkzEXJuDs"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXOkzEXJuDs I agree, with the luxury of hindsight, I think the Clash we're way better than The Sex Pistols as well.

Even remastered I'm still not a fan of the Beatles. I don't want to hijack Hops post again but if you want to talk music feel free to pm me.
