wow i didnt know myself well enough, it turns out we all should try to fit this kind description, ppl! i think i should work on this a lot funny funny
Gee, I really like your avatar, the smiling, happy hippie that says "love"...I can just feel the love from you...hee hee
In terms of real and fake, I really don't know what I am. I don't really care what I am either. Personally, none of my friends from high school get me anymore, because none of them see me anymore and don't really realize how I have changed since then. I don't think any of them know how far I have gone to try to live a more hippie-like lifestyle. I know they wouldn't approve of any of the things I have done as a "hippie" or any of the beliefs I have, and that's ok with me. The important thing for us to know, is who we are and not what everyone else thinks. I am just glad to be me, just a chill chick hanging with my brothers and sisters in peace.
Shit guys, I kinda just posted that really fast and I'm sure it came off really Arrogant and Conceded. Maaa Bad. However...lol...I just get sick of FUCK-UPS. And Soaring Eagle is, and always shall be, the coolest, most badass, nice, warmhearted person I've ever seen. And I know About the AMAZING shit you and the Rainbows have done in some fucked up hoods in Philly. So your not stoned and lazy buddy, Your a real hippie with purpose and intelligence.
When I first heard the word I was about 17 and had long hair in San Francisco-Me and my friends smoked pot and danced at the Fillmore to Janis and the Dead and Quicksilver etc. but we never called each other hippys. The reason was that nobody really understood what it was. Time and Life did but we didn't -lol-we were freaks-thats what we called each other-and we freaked freely-thats what we did- We looked at the beats as the real group that started the freedom movement. The beatniks of Northbeach drank coffee and read poetry-smoked pot and talked funny- Me and my friends had part time jobs and protested the war as well as ate alot of acid-all this before the 67' Summer Of Love-thats the year the word HIPPY really got used alot-but by then we had moved on-I think you are who you are-just be real and be a good person and it dosen't matter what the name is.
Hippy is freedom and equality, hippy is happiness, hippy is peace, hippy is tranquility and inner beauty, hippy is nature. In short, hippy is love. Peace and love wished your way my brothers and sisters
Jimi Hendrix - If 6 Was 9 Yeah, sing the song, Bro' If the sun refuse to shine, I don't mind, I don't mind, If the mountains fell in the sea, let it be, it ain't me. Alright, 'cos I got my own world to look through, And I ain't gonna copy you. Now if 6 turned out to be 9, I don't mind, I don't mind, Alright, if all the hippies cut off all their hair, I don't care, I don't care. Dig, 'cos I got my own world to live through And I ain't gonna copy you. White collared conservative flashing down the street, Pointing their plastic finger at me. They're hoping soon my kind will drop and die, But I'm gonna wave my freak flag high, high. Wave on, wave on Fall mountains, just don't fall on me Go ahead on Mr. Business man, you can't dress like me. Sing on Brother, play on drummer
A little comparison-In 1970' me and my bud Dave travelled Europe-we hitched with guitars and acid-we landed in Rome and ended up staying under the city in the catacombs-the local druggies/hippys knew the way in and it was very strange-A trip back in time a thousand years-this is where the Christians hid out from the Roman gaurds -especially when the "games" were going on down the street at the Colosium- Sitting down there in those maze of tunnels' it was real easy to relate to their situation back then. They were the "freaks" of their time as we were of ours. Some things like class distinction seem to never change."Hippys" have been around since the beginning of time-
