Reporting high coronavirus caseloads in Kentucky, the governor of that state demanded that the litany of "no shoes, no shirt, no service!" be amended to "no shoes, no shirt, no mask, no service!" This point was reiterated by the reporter to make sure the message gets through to the listeners. As if... "Ole man River...he keeps a rollin' along."
My town People finally wearing the masks. I haven't barefooted into a store lately I just want to get my stuff and go . I miss the cold floor by the beer cooler and freezer section on a hot day. I never get coffee in Seven Eleven anymore. That was a daily routine. Cute girls work there too. But its too much, do the mask thing avoid people don't touch stuff lots of other people do... I dont even want to touch the coffee dispenser and did the person before me grab a cup them put it back touching the rim? Stupid corona thing screwed up most of my old routine. Gym is gross and closed now too I think.
I could link to tons of news reports from italian / chinese / brazilian / US etc. hospitals with overstrained nurses and docs, deparately trying their best to stop people dying while having insufficient lung ventilator equimpent etc. But this is all published and available, so everyone who cares can know it. Maybe more effective is to have a look here: The 100 Safest Countries In The World For COVID-19 “Switzerland and Germany achieve the #1 and #2 positions in this new special case study specifically because of their economy’s resilience, and due to the careful ways in which they are attempting to relax lockdown and economic freezing mandates in a fact and science-based manner, without sacrificing public health and safety” And yes, these are countries where you have to wear mask, for example while using public transport. This is just the way everyone can help lowering the spreading of the virus. But to come back to the op: though we now have security at the entrance of most oft the stores to provide desinfectants and control mask wearing, I never got a complaimnt about going barefoot, once even a positive remark.
the countries where the novel coronavirus is going strongest are those where people resist the most to the idea of wearing a face mask - USA, Brazil, UK . I also find strange how the single country where they care about forcing a dress code on store patrons . USA with NSNSNS - and doing so on the basis of non existent "health regulations" about bare feet (ok but what about the shirt ? :\ ) then completely disregard the chance of getting mortally sick from a pandemics. Let's stress this point : - one has to wear shoes inside stores to "protect his own health" spite of lack of evidence and rules about that - one is free to infect others spite of the existence of a clear and present sanitary hazard that already killed hundred of thousands in mere months how irrational is that ? accepting to be told how to dress by a private storeowner but revolting against a sanitary measure while people is dying amidst a pandemic ?
