Just like here in Britain. The fruit industry relies on Romanians and suchlike people to pick. No Brits will do that work. The British fruit producers are likely to go under due to Brexit.

Mexicans can come here to the USA legally to pick fruit.

I doubt the Brit fruit producers will go under or prices rise much.

Maybe we can get some of your Mexicans to come over and pick our fruit and work in our old people's homes. Would add some local colour.

    Machinist you're a hoot.
Do you ever have anything to say that's backed up by facts?

So now everything I post is to be disregarded because I'm a woman!
Do you know what misogyny is?

....and the best part is you don't know what sex I am.

No i figured out what sex you are. Youre a woman.

The fact is we can build a wall. Theres your fact for you.

Americans can build it. If Mexico built it it would fall down in like 3 years.

Its still bizarre to me you think we cant build a wall from a design perspective. Here you are going even deeper into the hole. Yes we can build a wall. Its not the craziest feat of engineering thats ever been done. ITS A WALL

It isn't remotely that easy. Why would you think it would only take up 4 feet of property? If it runs through acres of someone's property it will take up acres of land, in some cases it would split their property in two. In some cases the proposed path could run through someone's home

The courts are already backlogged with eminent domain cases along the border, you should do some research to find out exactly what the eminent domain process actually entails

Just in Texas the government would have to claim over 2,000 parcels of private land, some two miles form the border due to flood plains.
The wall would cross golf courses, towns, ranches, and Spanish Land Grants. 2/3 of the wall would be on private or state land.

The land needed is not just for the wall itself but also for right of ways for maintenance parallel to both sides of the wall (a 2,000 mile long two way highway), access roads, support sites, and crossing gates and checkpoints.
Flora and fauna will be negatively affected such as javelinas, ocelots, jaguars, armadillos, bobcats, roadrunners, saguaro cactus, bighorn sheep, black bears, pygmy owls, bald eagles, grey wolfs, and Sonoran pronghorn. Estimates are 800 species would be affected.

Here's a picture of one 4 foot wide section already in place.

Not to mention the carbon footprint.

I don't think that migrants working illegally in the US was on the forefront of Trump's mind, since in the overall picture they do little to harm the US economy.
My impression was that he was mainly concerned about terrorists, criminals and drugs entering the US, when he decided that a nuclear bomb was needed to crack a walnut.

Where I lived in my youth was/is called the bread basket of the world. The San Joaquin Valley. Mexicans do 99% of the work for millionaire farmers that are probably 99% republican. They are not going to be happy with tariffs on their products. But then, maybe it won't matter much when the crops rot in the fields, because they can't find any "rapists and criminals" to make sure they continue to get their crops tended to.
