In my kitchen we have a small round table with four chairs, all alike. Now...I like to sit in the one facing the north window, as this gives me a nice view of the front yard and the road beyond. That way I can see if anyone is sneaking up on me as I'm having breakfast. My wife usually sits opposite me facing the basement door. This is perfectly logical as we all know that men have a hardwired neurological bias that requires them to keep their back to a wall in case of attack. The problem is every time I try to sit in that chair I find a cat is already sleeping on it. If not one cat, another. Then I have to remove the cat before I can sit down. This isn't as easy as it sounds as our house is decorated in the "primitive" style which means my wife tied these little chair rug thingies onto the seat of all the wooden chairs in the entire house. This means that when you try and swoosh a cat off a particular chair they stick to it like Velcro. I often find my self picking up the entire chair and shaking it violently from side to side and up and down, and we all know that just makes Velco stick even tighter. So my question is, why do the cats have to sleep on MY chair? I asked my wife and she said because if they don't sleep on my chair, then they'd sleep on hers. This leads me to believe sends extremely strong negative cat vibrations onto her chair every chance she gets. A natural cat repellent, which then leaves them no choice but to use my chair. Probably onto the other two chairs also just to screw me. I also considered that I may be leaving a natural cat attraction scent on my chair but immediately rejected that as it would mean I smell like a rat or some other disgusting rodent, a mouse at minimum. At that, my friends, is just too ridiculous to be true. So why do I call it "The Lucky Chair"? Because I consider it a lucky day if I can sit on it without first a having to extract a cat. Thank you for your time.
Pick Up Your North Bound Chair......Complete With Cat Intact......And Swap It With An East.....Or West Bound Chair.......Simple As...... Good God......Next Thing You Are Going Ask Us Is.....Which Way Should I Wipe My Butt.....East To West......Or North To South......................Good Grief..... Cheers Glen.
Good idea. A scientific approach. I will instigate the experiment immediately and report back the results.
MeAgain, the cats probably like the direction your chair is in, too....as they don't like to leave themselves too vulnerable, either. or the warmth you left there or something. Minxy likes to sleep in my only chair downstairs here, and there are several everywhere, and I when I want to sit here, I sit on the edge of this chair...to share it with her....but she kindly leaves always to give me more room.......but then proceeds to walk in front of me every minute between the computer and this chair....There is no winning for losing sometimes....lol
Cute,,,,lol,....Fang Shui,...........I have claw shui going on here with Grayson....Every time he is frustrated upstairs these days, like if I am in the bathroom and won't open the door to his pawing and crying at the door....or if he is frustrated waiting for the dogs to go upstairs finally and to bed, so he can come down and have freedom on this floor...he is clawing the wallpaper on one wall upstairs.....and I keep finding little scraps of wall paper all over the floor and a runied wall papered part of the wall....SCREAM! I have to keep my cool...i have to keep my cool.....Help me keep my cool...lol.....count to10....1....2....3....4..... What am I supposed to do about the wall now? I did not put that wall paper up. It was there when we moved here...now what.....!!!!
and I must remember the good things as I keep my cool.....I must....even though some demon is possessing grayson clawing the wall paper off the wall.....He is demonized!
Interesting experiment, because what both of you say is true. Will the cat be more drawn to the scent that he has marked the chair with, or the location for the warmth of the that it provides. Wow. This site now has 2 crazy cat ladies and 2 crazy cat men. (including myself) LOL
