Gangster Number 1: Malcolm McDowell relives his rise to London gangster power as Paul Bettany in a long sixties flashback. Stylised, violent, well acted by all concerned as his psychopathic rise to power and ultimate empty success is charted to the modern day. McDowell and Bettany are both great on screen. It is incredibly sweary, and I don't think I've ever seen anything that uses the C-word as much as this film does.

I watched “on the basis of sex” A very powerful film that reminded me of some of the gross discrimination that was accepted (and still is). I remember a job with a Federal agency in the early 70’s when I was supposed hire an assistant. We got the cert with three names...two of which were female..all three were well qualified. My supervisor looked at the list and crossed off the females stating “ we can’t have women out there talking to loggers”. And that was that. His supervisor knew what was going on but let the selection go forward. In retrospect the female applicants probably knew exactly what had happened. Any woman who had career aspirations in natural resources, engineering, management, or sciences faced huge roadblocks.

When my wife enrolled in meterology in the mid seventies, the professors comment was “ why are you in this class? Do you want to be a weather girl on tv?

I really want to watch Bird Box, but that trailer. Idk. That girl smashing her head against the window. Reminds of The Happening, in a way.

Yeah Rogue One is the best, but that’s probably because of that ending. It’s something every Star Wars fan has wanted to see. :D.
