This was good because I'm a fan of the game. I thought they did a good job of keeping the spirit of Tomb Raider alive.

    The Shining

Believe it or not, this was my first time seeing it. Ever.

Odd because I used to go skiing all the time at Timberline Lodge where it was filmed.

    Watching Beautiful Girls...random 90s flick

Natalie Portman's character in Garden State is basically a grown up version of her character in this movie

The Shining is one of two movies i've seen where the movie is way better than the book

  11. What's the other one?

That's ironic because I find most of King's horror movie adaptations substantially worse than the books :The Stand, Pet Sementary, Needful Things, Salem's Lot.

I guess Misery, the book and movie were about equal.

Love Stephen King but the films that have been adapted from his novels and short-stories have been a series of hits and misses.

    Just to name a few:

The movie Stand By Me was better than the Novella The Body

The movie Shawshank Redemption was better than the Novella

The Movie Misery was equal to the Book

He Novella Children of the Corn was much better than the movie

The movie Carrie (1976) was equal to the Book

The Novella Thinner was better than the movie

The movie Christine was equal to the book

The Novella The Running Man was better than the movie

The Novel Fire Starter was much better than the movie

The Novel Needful Things was slightly better than the Movie

The Novella Apt Pupil was just slightly better than the movie

The Novel Salem’s Lot was slightly better than the Made For TV Movie

I’m still waiting for my favorite Novella The Long Walk to be adapted to the big screen

You sure it was Shawshank and not the green mile?

I've read nearly every Stephen King Novel and Novella so it's not a mistake I could make.

Technically the novella was titled Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption.

It was good. Shining is one of those movies where I need to watch a 2nd time to make sure I didn't miss anything. I really like Kubrick's directing style.

This looks okay. I will watch this.

I started watching Buffalo 66 last night but was interrupted. So far I was enjoying it.

That's how I feel about Jaws

  20. The last movie I watched was Vendetta.
    Vendetta (1999 film) - Wikipedia

It's about Italian immigrants arriving in late 19th century New Orleans. What they don't mention until the end is that events led to the the largest mob lynching in US history. But then, it's not presented as a documentary.
