The Last Movie I Watched

Arrival. I watched it twice in two days because I just couldn’t get it out of my head. Really good, thought-provoking movie.

 

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle


When I first heard they were making a new Jumanji movie, I was not pleased. I loved the old one, and I hate it when Hollywood destroys classic movies with their bullshit.

But then, I was told that this does not have anything to do about retelling the same story as the 1995 Jumanji move. So I gave it a fair shot.

It was very well done. D'Wayne Rock Johnson plays a very good nerd in a tough guy's body, and Jack Black played a convincing role too.

It payed homage to the original in some aspects. It was almost a sequel in some way. Even though I liked the Robin Williams Jumanji better, it is worth your while.

Unsane.......generally enjoyable though the plot twist could have been better.

 

I like Rebel Wilson. She's beautiful, she's funny, she has that sexy Aussie accent...

But it seems she is always the butt of a fat joke. In all the Pitch Perfect trailers, she just seems like one big fat joke for the entire movie (granted, trailers are out of context, but still). It upsets me that she goes along with this. Like, she accepts that unless she lets herself be reduced to a punchline, she won't have a career. But she's so much more than just a fat girl, and even if she wasn't--so what? What's wrong with being a fat girl? I think she's gorgeous, and I'd be happy to take her to bed.

I think that puts me out too. It may have happened in "How to Be Single" as well, but I'd have to watch it again to be sure. I thought her performance was nothing short of amazing though.

 

This movie was a real trip. Very well done by all involved. I think it was meant to be watched while you're stoned or something. Not even a stoner movie, but intriguing. I really enjoyed this movie!
