I'm about 1/3 of the way through #3.
This one is just a tad stronger... hehe

    (Alc. 8.3%)

Smells: Bright citrusy hops,a bit of honey and perhaps a bit of hay?

Tastes: Dry, bitter hops right up front and into the follow through, tweaking itself a bit sweeter on the back end.

Overall, it's what I'd expect from a decent IPA, Belgian or otherwise. Not my favorite style, but fairly good for what it is.

From Philly so that's my guess. They were giving samples to everyone when they walked in the door. I wasn't a fan.

Shit. I was at the beer store and saw an interesting beer by 4 hands. I asked the clerk about it he said that's the best beer in the store. Tastes like a chocolate milkshake. So I look around for a while and go back and blindly grab it.
Keyword is blindly. I accidentally took a 4 pack of 3 stars nectar of the bogs. Which is a cranberry Saison.

I would have been better off getting a leunenguegle Shandy or however it's spelled. Damn it. The place is an hour away so it's not even wasting money on an overpriced beer but I can't just go and pick it up without wasting all my free time.

    And gas money...

    Sorry to hear that!
Sounds like it would've been delicious!
(Call them tomorrow and tell them to put some aside for you, if it seemed like they were low!)

And, what weren't you a fan of?
    The Yard's Brawler?

    Oh!
    I almost forgot!
(I was busy making my second friend on Untappd.) :)

Anyway, turns out I went on to beer #4.
(One more sip and I'm done with it.)

    An interesting brew, for sure.
Not amazing, not bad at all, but... different.

    Anyfuck... here it is...

    (Alc. 5.2%)

Smellin: Malty biscuit and... sweet hops? There's something else going on in there too, I'm just not sure what it is... my first thought is "licorice root", but then I think that can't be right.

Tastin: Very slight hoppy bitterness wafts over the overall biscuit... and dandelion root?

Overall, not sure what the hell is going on. It's tasty, but a bit odd (not in a bad way). Seems like this would be a great brew for catching up with old friends while at a good hotel bar. (Like something I'd drink when I first sat at a bar at one of the *SLCC outings.)

*(SLCC = Second Life Community Convention)

Oh yeah... and I have a somewhat related pic again!

Maybe it's for the best. Had stone pains 2 days now and dark beers seem to make it worse.

Well shit man... turns out I'm hitting up #5!
I thoguht I was done, but then I hoppend into a chat session over on Hip forums and they convinced me to drink another beer.
(Like, they said "drink another one". lol)

    So, here we are...
My last beer in the fridge...

    (Alc. 5.7%)

On the nose: Bittersweet grapefruit hops, with a hint of a woody vine somewhere in the past.

In the mouth: Only slightly bitter hops, but also happy and bright. Really, just a juicy hops-laden IPA.

Overall, an enjoyable juicy IPA from River Horse... which is, pretty much, par for the course. A bit on the bitter side, like when you bite into a grape seed... but only very slightly and on the edges.

Aha... well... you have my sympathy.
Drink something good for that instead.... like... umm... THC/CBD oil infused grapefruit juice?

Identical colored 4 pack cans on the left side of the middle shelf of the cooler case. Another guy grabbed one and being the clerk was raving about it I thought he recommended it to him also.

Speaking of beer that tastes like a chocolate milkshake, I've got a bottle of Singlecut's ERIC More Cowbell! Chocolate Milk Stout in the fridge right now. It is a milk stout brewed with cocoa, which I am assuming is similar in style to what you were recommended at the store.

My weekend began at 7:30 this morning, and I am not wasting any time getting to my beer fridge full of awesome brews.

My first beer of the morning is a new one for me, but the second beer I've had from Lost Nation Brewing out of Morrisville, Vermont. This is their Mosaic IPA, which, as the name suggests, showcases the use of Mosaic hops.

This is a New England style IPA coming in at 5.5% ABV.

    Canned on 12/21/16.

The appearance of this beer is beautiful. Very bright yet pale, cloudy orange color with a small, dense head. This beer has a very orange juice like appearance, and its cloudy, almost turbid appearance is characteristic of NE-style "juice bomb" IPAs.

The aroma is this beer is very pineapple-forward, with hints of grapefruit, tangerine, peach and passionfruit. I am getting some very nice earthy, floral notes, as well some fresh cut grass. Malts are very subdued, but are present as bready or biscuit-like in nature.

Flavors are very much in line with the nose. Very Mosaic-dominant as would be expected given the name of this beer. Again lots of pineapple, grapefruit, tangerine, peach and some mango. There is also some citrus rind (lemon, tangerine), along with a slight resinous hop character. These flavors come through as quite subdued compared to the nose. There is a nice cracker-malt backbone, with a touch of grassy hop bitterness and slight herbaceous character towards the finish. Overall very little bitterness, but lots of juicy, tropical citrus character.

Mouthfeel is light-medium with a very soft mouthfeel and a light carbonation which nicely compliments the subtleties of this beer's flavors. This is a very smooth and easy-drinking IPA. Quaffable, you might say.

    Overall rating: A
