My friend brught me over a 12 pack of Blue Moon ale, and it just sits in the cold shed outside. maybe I will have one tonight....maybe...I really do not drink much....and if I have one, it will be one Blue Moon ale...ok...got to think now....yeah, why not? I will go outside to the shed and get one....and have an ale with you tonight....be right back.
That's the best tasting ale then. Crisp and icy cold. People say they enjoy a cold beer on a hot day. Well to me that means a partially warm beer on a hot day. How good is when you just buy a case of beer in winter and leave it outside for the night and it's colder than your fridge in the morning??
You know...the first gulp and not sip, as I was thirsty anyway was out of this world, and now the remaining sips are ok, but not out of this world anymore...it is not as icy cold anymore and it is making me tired.....lol
A lot of beer does that too me. I just stick with what I like mostly. Most beers the first sip is nice. Then progressively worse. And that next bottle can just be like, used for gagging purposes... like wheat beer totally not German, I know. But I can't stand it. And that Feral white was wheat beer and I instantly regret it.
Wheat beer is German... at least hefeweizens are. There are Belgian-style wheat beers and German-style wheat beers.
Tonight I have had several beers. 1) Cloud Jumper by Sloop (6% ABV) - Very nice single IPA. Lots of tropical, citrusy hops coupled with a nice resiny dankness and some sweet bready malts in the finish. Light-medium bodied with a nice drinkability B+ 2) Shake Chocolate Porter by Boulder Beer (5.9% ABV) - A very nice porter with a nice milk chocolate character and dark roasted malts. Body is rather light with a high drinkability. B+ 3) 12th of Never Ale by Lagunitas (5.5% ABV) - Very nice sessionable IPA from Lagunitas. Lots of very mild yet zesty citrus hops (lemon, orange, pineapple) with a restrained bitterness, an earthy finish and pleasant bready malt backbone. HIghly drinkable. A-
slummin it because i dont want to drive to a far away beer store Milwaukee ice color- piss yellow head- none drinking out of the can smell-aluminum taste-aluminum and alcohol with notes of horse piss overall enjoyability- only as good as whatever snack i am eating
I am now drinking Sumi Ink From Grimm. This is an imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels with vanilla. 13.5% ABV Bottling date: November 2016 Pours an opaque black with little head. Up front on the nose there's just tons of bourbon, coupled with vanilla, dark roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, dark fruits and oak. The flavor is much less boozy than the nose. Upfront there is just a ton of dark malt sweetness coupled with vanilla and bourbon. There is also a slight roastiness and chocolate presence from the malts. Mouthfeel is medium with a slight slickness. Carbonation is faint to non-existent. Overall rating: A+
I was given a few cans Heady Topper from The Alchemist brewing company up in Stowe, VT Anyone had this before? I haven't drank it yet. I have a few other cans/bottles to get through first.
Heady Topper is at the top of my list of beers I want to try. Unfortunately it's next to impossible to find outside of Vermont. I am truly jealous of you. Please think of me when drinking it.
snow melt winter ale, kinsa weird tasting, i don't note the chocolate others do ..taste kinda bourbony to me, but only comes in@7%..
