Once again drinking Xocoveza, a winter seasonal spiced mocha stout based loosely around Mexican hot chocolate which is brewed with cocoa, peppers, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. This is a beer I already previously consumed and reviewed, and I can see myself drinking it many more times before the season is over. Awesome stuff!! I could drink this all winter long!!!

I love me some tomasello's wine. I am sure you all don't have it down there. I know if kickbox looked he could find some but from what I can tell it's pretty regional.
The guy at the tasting booth told me that the Japanese order all their spare blueberry wines because of the antioxidants I prefer the cherry and the only white wine I ever had that I liked was one they make from frozen grapes.
But if you are talking about those wines with the roo on the bottle...Yeah fuck that shit and give me a stout.

I read how there are so many different cease-and-desist claims and lawsuits filed by microbreweries all over the country fighting over intellectual property for the names of the beers they brew.

Apparently all the good names for new beer have been taken.

22 dollars a six-pack? For which beer? The most expensive Ballast Point six-pack I have seen is their Victory at Sea, which runs around $16 here.

I believe it was the commodore american stout. Total fucking rip off, i dont care how good it is. I could probably get it at bevmo or total wine for 15 dollars or so. 22 bucks is just ridiculous, though.

    Drinking Magnetic Compass from Grimm.

I waited in line to buy this beer, as I do with almost all of Grimm's beers which are highly limited in their production and distribution. When Grimm's world-class IPAs hit the shelves, they're gone within minutes. The limit was two cans per person. I ended up with four because I went to two different places. One released this beer Tuesday night, and the other released it Wednesday morning. There is still another local beer store that will be releasing this beer on Saturday morning.

This is an INCREDIBLE New England-style IPA that is brewed with oats, and is ranked among not only one of Grimm's best IPA's, but one of their best beers all around.

    6.4% ABV.

    Canned on 11/17/16

    From Grimm's website:

Magnetic Compass prominently features NZ Rakau hops, bringing a unique mix of candied orchard fruit, stone fruit, and tropical aromas with some light dank elements. Background notes of Citra, Mosaic, and Columbus. Very hazy and juicy. Roll your can to suspend hop particles and enjoy.

**Prior to cracking open the can, I rolled it on the counter a few times as suggested to suspend the beer's hop particles**

This beer pours a beautifully bright, opaque orange color that resembles orange juice with an initial 2-finger head which quickly fades to one.

There is a huge juicy tropical citrus nose to this beer. I am getting tons of passionfruit, peach, pineapple and juicy orange. There is also an earthy dankness, as well as a bready malt sweetness and some herbal notes. Overall this smells like a total juice bomb.

Flavor is very much in line with the nose. Tons of juicy, tropical hop flavors which are brimming with overtones of passionfruit, peach, stone fruit and candied orange. In the finish there is a mild breadniess that imparts a faint sweetness, which is coupled with some dank, earthy, herbaceous flavors.

Mouthfeel is light-medium, exceptionally soft and smooth, and with a creaminess that's imparted by the use of oats.

Awesome, awesome beer. I would have to say this is my favorite IPA from Grimm so far.

    A+

Now drinking a local beer which seems to be getting a ton of hype around here lately. This is Space Kitty from Rohrbach Brewing Company out of Rochester, NY, which is Rochester's first craft/micobrewery.

This is a double IPA brewed with citra hops.

    8.4% ABV

Pours a dark copper color with an initial two-finger head.

Very nice nose on this beer. Tons of floral, citrus hops. I am getting lots of pithy citrus. There's some pineapple, mango and grapefruit, as well as some stone fruit. There is also some dank pine and earthy, herbaceous notes as well. Some bready malts and caramel malt sweetness also.

Flavor is a good combination of juicy citrus (pineapple, mango, grapefruit) and dank pine resin with some herbaceous undertones. There is some sweet breadiness in the finish.

Mouthfeel is light-medium, lightly carbonated, and with a semi-dry finish.

Overall an impressive, even amazing beer for Rochester.

    A-

This is Global Warmer from Sixpoint, an imperial amber/red ale.

    7% ABV

Pours a reddish copper/amber color with two fingers of head.

Nice biscuity malt nose with some caramel sweetness as well. There is some light citrus, resinous pine, and a mild, earthy hop presence which is somewhat "green" and herbaceous.

Flavor is more bitter than sweet upfront, with some grapefruit and orange rind that provides a nice hoppy bite coupled with some grassy undertones. There is some resiny pine as well. The malts come through much more in the finish, which are nicely bready and biscuit-like.

Mouthfeel is light-medium and smooth, but with a fairly vibrant, crisp carbonation.

    Overall rating: B+

Does your belly ever get bloated from all the beer you drink?

I have such an issue with this personally. If I drink anything carbonated, I get really bloated and it takes days for my stomach to return to normal.

Temporarily, yeah, but nothing that lasts beyond the time I am drinking.

Are you sure it really takes days for your stomach to go back to normal after drinking something carbonated, or is it all in your head?
