I could only find it in a six pack this year. Funny because last year i couldn't find it in a six pack and only in a 22 ounc bottle lol. Keep your eye out
New Belgium ben and jerry's cookie dough.. to me it kinda tasted like vanilla chocolate cereal.. idk, might of ruined palate drinking a dark beer before hand... Id buy this again tho til i got tied of it the 3rd time.. its ok.
Damn, I was going to pick up a growler of the new Southern Tier Cold Brew Coffee Pumking this morning, which is only available on tap, but come to find out it just kicked last night. I am so bummed. So instead I picked up this mini growler of Hops in the Valley by Sloop, one of my favorite up-and-coming breweries based in the south-eastern part of NY. This is an IPA @ 6% ABV, which I am drinking before going to bed for a few hours after working all night. I just got this growler filled within the last 20 minutes, so it is fresh. Pours a hazy golden-orange color with an initial one and a half fingers of head and a good amount of lasting retention. Aroma is of dank and juicy citrus, particularly grapefruit, lemon and orange rind, as well as some peach and some spicy, pepper-like notes. There are some floral notes, pine, as well as some caramel-like sweetness from the malts. Flavor is of big, pithy citrus, with grapefruit and tangerine predominating. There are also some grassy, slightly herbal undertones, combined with some bready malts, which also provide a restrained sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium, smooth, and with a decent amount of carbonation. The finish is quite dry. Overall rating: A-
Now drinking the newly released Awoogah from Grimm, an IPA featuring Hallertau Blanc and Galaxy hops. 6.7% ABV Canning date of 10/12/16. Rolled can as suggested to suspend hop particles prior to pouring into tulip glass. Pours a cloudy yellow-orange color with an initial two fingers of head and some lasting retention. Aroma is of floral hops and zesty, pithy citrus (grapefruit, passionfruit, tangerine, lemon rind, mango), some earthiness, wet grass, pepper, and some herbal notes as well. Flavor is nicely balanced between an earthy, herbal bitterness with lots of citrus overtones, and some sweetness from the malts. Lots of mango, orange peel and lemon, coupled with some breadiness and faint caramel from the malts. Mouthfeel is soft, smooth and creamy with a light carbonation. The hops provide a juicy, lingering finish to this beer. Overall rating: A
I am now drinking Born Yesterday Pale Ale from Lagunitas. 7% ABV Pours a cloudy, unfiltered (read: opaque) golden yellow color with about one finger of head. Aroma is of floral and tropical citrus, as well as some dank pine. Lots of mango, pineapple, melon and pine resin in the nose, as well as a nice earthy dankness and a bit of honey. Flavor pretty much matches the aroma. Tropical fruits predominate, along with a faint amount of dank pine resin. Very fresh tasting indeed. Mouthfeel is exceptionally soft and smooth, and more along the lines of something you would find from a much smaller batch brew from say Grimm. In my opinion, the mouthfeel and drinkability of this beer is what sends it over the top, because this is truly amazing and one of the best things I have had from Lagunitas to date. Overall rating: A+ INCREDIBLE BEER!!!
Drinking Xocoveza from Stone, a winter-spiced mocha stout. To be exact, this is a spiced milk stout. 8.1% ABV Pours an opaque dark black with an initial 1-2 finger head. Aroma is of coffee, dark malts, chocolate, peppers, nutmeg and cinnamon. Flavor is dominated by coffee, roasted dark malts, chocolate, peppers, some faint vanilla, and cinnamon spice. Mouthfeel is medium, smooth, and with a restrained carbonation. Overall rating: A+
Drinking 5Beans from Six Point, an imperial Baltic porter brewed with coffee beans and Madagascar vanilla beans. 10% ABV Pours a mostly opaque dark brown color, almost black, with about one finger of beige head that recedes rather fast. Aroma is of coffee, dark roasted malts, vanilla beans, chocolate and dark fruits. Flavor is predominately coffee and dark roasted malts upfront, with the chocolate and vanilla beans becoming more pronounced in the finish. There is a good balance between bitter and sweet. Mouthfeel is smooth with a medium body and a decent but restrained level of carbonation. Overall rating: A
having this without anything else.. its boring. im not getting any the flavor I had the other day. more like a cookie crisp aftertaste and thats all .. 6% least it will do something.
Yeah the caramel brownie was a disappointment too. They are good brewers but not with the sweeter brews.
Is this one really that good? Iwas gonna get it the other day but it was like 10 bucks or some shit for a 22 ounce
