a lot of people complain about the fake taste of baby jesus but i dont mind a fake taste as long as it dosnt taste like it is chemicals like bud lime has no real lime taste.

I'm still a couple pages back (just started page 33), but I wanted to get my beer review posted. I've already finished it and have moved on to my remaining Rye Stouts from last time around. But, anyway... here's ym review from when I first opened it earlier tonight: (Alc. 8%) (I know the picture says "9%", but my bottle says "8%"... could be more by now, it was brewed in 2012.) Smell: Smoky oak, maybe some toffee and vanilla. There's a faint bread/biscuit scent and the hops are providing a vague edge. Taste: That's nice... I can easily taste the oak cask aging with a bit of smokiness. A backend bitter bite is barely there, but still provides a kind of sourdough feel between that and the bread/biscuit flavor. I think that toffee is wisping around the thing, too. Overall, I'm thoroughly enjoying this brew. Not something to chug, but goes down easy. It has a decent thickness to the body, as well as a nice creamy texture that's just enough to give it a lovely smoothness.
Drank so much this evening I'm starting to trip without the visuals. Unless turn my head, and then the light post dips down and behind the neighbor's fence. Actually wtf is up with that brick pattern.
Just wanted to mention... I just hit Page 34 and went to "Like This" for PRs review of Aphrodite from Brasserie Dieu du Ciel and was promptly informed I'm out of Likes. fuck fuckfuck Pages to go and no "Like"s left. I hate the limit on Likes here. Ok, going back to catching up. (SO MANY GOOD BEERS!)
Both of those beers sound worth trying. A lot. But for me, I'd probably hitch myself to the stout. And have an affair with USAlive. And who mentioned the thing about you having a blog? Because they have a point... you have really well... textured... reviews. I can get a sense of the taste and profile just from your review. Hell, I've been planning one (that'll probably never happen) for at least a year now. (Granted, mine was a politics/beer combo with some "other" thrown in from time to time. But still... just saying... if I think my reviews can interest a couple people, yours could go gangbusters.
I wanted to click "Like This" on this post so badly, but I'm way out of my "Like This" allotment for the day. (I consider that limit a personal nemesis of mine. I mean seriously... after almost a month, I check in and have a dozen Likes or whatever to spread out among the hundreds of posts I have to catch up on? Fer realz? C'mon... that's some bullsheeyat right there. Feel me?) (*ahem*) But seriously... the fuck are you drinkin?!?
Kentucky Deluxe for the past few couple months, and to you Like situation, I'm a member of several sites where that isn't an option, but have read some really funny posts that deserve a thumbs up. It is what is is. Btw, ever noticed how loud keystrokes are when you're plastered?
We should just gather whoever's interested in this thread and start a beer review blog. (Allow for non-beer articles, but you get what I mean.) And have an annual convention (for staff and readers) at a different pub/brew house/whatever every year. Like that sweet Old Toad out in Rochester, NY. Or Triumph Brewing in New Hope, PA. Or wherever is convenient enough for everyone to say "fuck yeah" once a year. There's a million places in reach of most of us. I'm rambling now. That may be due to being non-sober. I'm out of beer. I'm considering tequila or moonshine. Or neither. We'll see.
Kentucky Deluxe... o.o ... -.- .. o.o ... O.O .. 0.0 .. .. -.- ... hehe And yeah, totally... about the keystrokes. But not right now... because I'm wearing headphones and listening to YouTube mixes I put together specifically for background music while I muck about in the forums. But all in all, with the whole "Like" thing... I think there should at least be graduated levels that allow for more Likes, according to how long someone has been a member. Plus, in such a great community, why should there be such a tight limit on being nice to other people? It's weird. (/rant)
Shit! It's a new page! I hate starting a page in the middle of a conversation! Quick... I gotta post a pic or something... Let's see... how about... this!
got some old Deschutes Jubelale cheap wasnt going to get it because its a winter beer but 19$ case, Im like ok maybe I can get that and something else.... Jubelale is 6.7% but its been sitting hot all year. funny because Ive spotted the case long time ago and was thinking damn that shit isnt going to sell its spring , its summer, its fall ..' its on sale.. hell yeah. my guess is raised the content just a little bit cause Ive not even finished my 3rd and I feel very woozy .. Deschutes uses live yeast so the beer should get a little better with age. then I got a case of Sweet Baby Jesus. thats right Pens, its a little artificial but its a good artificial ..
i almost bought some Warlock, but yeap it was to early for that.. Jubelale isnt very wintery .. dark beer but its good for now, cooling down outside...price was right.
My favorite meme like that witherspoon one is the one with Roger Waters and Robert Plant gardening Says Roger waters while Robert plants.
I am drinking the newly released Stone Citracado IPA commemorating Stone's 20-year anniversary. The name of the beer refers to the citra hops and avocado flower honey used in this beer. 9% ABV with a bottling date of 8/6/16. Right off the bat I notice this beer is very dark for an IPA (a double IPA). The color is a rich, dark amber. It poured into my tulip glass with a medium off white head that faded slowly to leave a fine lacing on the glass. Lots of pineapple, juicy orange, mango, and honey in the nose with some sweet malts as well. The hop bitterness is prominent upfront with lots of juicy citrus and some pine needle. Towards the middle there is even more of a citrus presence with some pineapple, papaya, mango and apricot. Lots of sweet malts competing with the hops for dominance. Finishes pretty sweet with the avocado flower honey present in the finish. This is one of the sweeter, maltier IPAs I have had from Stone, though is still very much a West Coast IPA. Body is medium with a smooth mouthfeel. Overall rating: A-
