You'll have to let us know how they taste.
It looks like some good stuff in there, but I'm always unsure when it comes to macro breweries.

That being said, Sam Adams easily has some good brews. :)

Drinking their "moxee-moron imperial session ipa". At least they know that doesn't make any sense. It is a 7.5% beer so it's more imperial than session.
Has a strong hoppy aftertaste but it's more on the citricy side going down. Maybe some other fruit tastes mixed in there. Pretty good overall.

Family values imperial brown ale next. It reminds me of a robust porter I had recently. 8.5%abv. It's got a nice note of brown sugar to me on top of the chocolate and honey notes.

    Anyway.
I don't know if I would call Sierra Nevada a macro despite being available everywhere but I definitely wouldn't call this a macro being it's a collaboration with august Schell brewing.. Dark horse brewing.. half across beer co.... Perennial artisan ales and sun king brewing

Hmmm. Turns out the robust stout (not porter)
I had recently was one from this pack that I had at my sisters house. It's the stout of the union.. is 7.3% abv and is slightly more chewy and chocolatey than the brown ale.

Drinking sorry chicky from burley oak. Huge disappointment. I mean it's a good dry hopped sour ale. really good. But I was looking for a buzz and it's a 4.4%abv at $15. And then after I passed the brewery I saw a place with a regular selection of beer. So I got a couple tall boys for the beach and brought this overpriced lemon shanty home. I am enjoying it but I would be enjoying something 5 bucks cheaper more.

Drinking Lancasters shoo fly pie porter now. Strong sweet tastes and vanilla. It's a liquid pie for sure. This purchase almost made up for that shit type burley oak one. 6 bucks for a 6.2 abv beer that is as sweet as candy. If this was a regular beer and not a limited beer on a discount rack I would get it much more often.

Tonight I am drinking one of the best craft brews made in America, and one of the best imperial stouts in the entire world. This is Prairie Bomb; an imperial stout aged on Nordaggios coffee, cocao nibs, vanilla beans and chili peppers. This stuff is so good. Lots of coffee and vanilla in the aroma. Upfront this beer has a nice sweet, roasted malt flavor that combines with the vanilla beans. There is a nice coffee backbone to the beer with a slight amount of heat from the chili peppers in the finish. This is a one of a kind beer. Truly amazing stuff. Potent, too, at 13% ABV.

Check out the reviews this beer receives on BeerAdvocate where it scores a 99.

Don't have to look at reviews. I had it and it is definitely the top 1 percent of beers I have had. Just damn expensive but I don't mind paying for a good beer. Which brings me to the second problem I have with it..it's hard to find around me.

Yeah, it was like $5 something for this 12 oz. bottle. Well worth it, though.

Oh yes it is. It was a bit more expensive the two times I had intended on buying it. If It was only $5. I would have gotten it both times.

Moving on to yet another world class imperial stout, this time from the Brasserie Dieu du Ciel of Quebec, called Peche Mortel. This, too, it a highly regarded imperial stout brewed with coffee, clocking in at 9.5% ABV. This one, unlike the previous, is less sweet, with more emphasis on the roasted malts. The coffee notes are subtle and mostly in the finish. The coffee beans are very prominent in the aroma.

The only unfortunate thing is that this beer was just bottled back in April of this year, so it could stand to age for a bit.

This one scores a 97 on BeerAdvocate and a 100 from the Alstrom Bros.

Moving on to my third and final beer of the night, finishing on a lighter note, this is Liliko'i Kepolo by Avery Brewing. This is a Belgian-style white ale (witbier) brewed with spices and passionfruit. The first thing I noticed after pouring this beer is that the aroma is amazing. It is pretty much straight up passionfruit. It smells almost like passionfruit juice. The beer's predominating flavor here is a tropical tartness courtesy of the passionfruit. It reminds me a bit of a Berliner Weissbier because of its tart and sour flavor. Really nice, really refreshing beer that is well suited for hot weather consumption. I would definitely buy this again.

    Scores a 90 on BeerAdvocate...

The Avery beer looks like garbage. I can't stand those fruity beers. "Tropical and tart"? Real men drink Milwaukee's Best.

That is one of the ones I was wondering about... sounds like something I should try!
Maybe I'll grab a mix-pack on my next trip, if they have both Hop Rod Rye and Family Values. :)

But yeah... technically speaking, to be a micro-brewery, you can't make more than 15,000 barrels a year.

So, as it turns out, Sierra Nevada is nowhere near a micro brewhouse, as they turn out over 1 million barrels a year.
Of course, they're also nowhere near the volume of Anheuser-Busch, who churns out over 100 millions barrels/year.

(I took pics of Prairie Bomb, Family Values and Hop Rod Rye with my phone... so I can easily remember what I'm looking for the next time I get to the liquor store.)
    :D

Got to stop by Costco when I was up in nj. One that I got was
Weyerbacher merry monks. I. Pretty happy with it. Very smooth and light for a Belgian tripel no alcohol taste in one that is 9.3 is unheard of to me.
