So, yeah... hello there everyone! :D
It's been a day or two since I posted in this thread (or this site in general), but hey... I'm dirnking tonight!

Here's what I've been drinking...

(Alc. 5.5%)

Smell: It smells smooth and creamy, also spicy and light-spirited. It definitely smells like an 'ale', but a couple steps away from "just" an ale.

Taste: Oh... that's interesting! The sides are where the light-spirit comes in with a thinner experience on the tongue. The unique blend doesn't present itself until after you've put down the bottle and swallowed the current sip. The cinnamon is definitely in there, but it's a nice soft blend instead of some blunt heavy-handed weapon of a thing. In fact, it's simply part of the Horchata blend (mostly a rice taste) which lends itself very nicely to this brew.

Overall, it's a really tasty ale! It's possible it may build to a bit of an overload after drinking a few of them, but I won't know that until later. It's practically a session beer at 5.5% and has a thin-ness that makes it seem like one as well.. and could easily be used as one. It may be more at home on a warmer day, but I could easily drink this by a fire in the fall... possibly moreso than being a summer brew.
But yeah... it's worth trying this one out.

Been A Long Time Since I Had Some Vodka, I Was Very Wary Of It Because I Would Think I Had Judged My

Drinking Rate And Then Suddenly I Felt Seriously Tipsy.......[IMG]

Just had a dirty bastard. It was lighter than I remembered especially for an 8.5% beer. But a very good scotch ale. A nice blend of hops and malts.

Drinking duclaws dirty little freak. Really good blend of flavors if you like that style of beer. Strong coconut smell and taste. Nice caramel taste too. Kind of reminds me of that girl scout cookie. I could have 3 of them but they are not a session style beer. Abv is only 5.8 but its just to heavy in a non chewy way. Hard to explain. I will just say its good but a lot of them are not as good. More of a sipper.

A DISGRUNTLED beer aficionado is suing Miller Brewing Co. for misleading him into thinking Foster’s Lager was brewed in Australia.

New York man Leif Nelson, 37, has filed a lawsuit against Miller Brewing Co. in the Brooklyn Federal Court, claiming the company’s advertising for Foster’s Lager misled him.

He pointed to the company’s slogan “Foster’s Australian for Beer” as giving a false impression that the beer was from Australia.

Nelson was a loyal Foster’s customer from 2012 to January 2015, and says he will start drinking their beverages again if they are correctly labelled.

I've had 2 DuClaw brews.

The first one I tried form them was the chocolate peanut butter monstrosity.
I mean, Sweet Baby Jesus!
(That was the name of it... "Sweet Baby Jesus")
It was interesting and fun when I started the first bottle, but by the end of that bottle the flavors had gone funny.
By the time I was one sip into the second bottle, I knew buying a 6-pack had been a mistake.

The other was Funk and that was a Blueberry brew and apparently I described it as being kinda fruit-loops in scent and taste.
Not the best beer I'd had, but pretty good compared to other blueberry brews I'd had at the time (no more than a couple years ago).

Which is to say, I've been operating under the idea that DuClaw sucks. Hard.
That's probably mostly a reflection on the chocolate-peanut butter beer.
But also due to thinking any flavor beer they produce is based on artificial flavors and that weirds me out.
It's like... like it tastes as if they used a powder to add the flavor instead of real ingredients.

Sounds like your experience may not be far off from mine.

Drinking Alesmith's IPA out of San Diego, California. This is considered to be among the top IPAs on the market. It's pretty much everything you could want in a West Coast IPA. Exceptional hop flavor and aroma with a beautiful appearance. Scores a 95 on BeerAdvocate.

if the beer tastes good i dont care how its made. (with a couple exceptions of course) i have had chemical beers that i liked and hated, really the only thing i can say bad about a good tasting powder beer is if you can tell it is a powder beer then psychologically i dont enjoy it. but i will still buy it again if it is the best option available. (that has only happened twice in my life though and once was the duclaws and the other was bud lime. say what you want but i will take bud lime over bud and budlight and a few other skunky style beers....anyday.

I saw this beer on the shelves for the first time today, though apparently it has been around for years. It's made by the same brewery (Morland) that makes Old Speckled Hen, as the name of the beer would suggest. This is an outstanding English Old Ale aged in oak barrels, which has a lot of toffee, caramel and roasted malt notes. Really an outstanding brew that is on the maltier side. I really love English ales, and this is a fine one clocking in at 6.5%ABV. This reminds me a lot of Theakston's Old Peculier, another one of my favorite British ales.

Drinking a mix of fireball and keystone ice. With a Bourbon county in the fridge. Yup I am scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to alcohol left around the house.

Duvel Tripel Hop. Tastes a lot like the original, but with more hoppy bitterness. 9.5%ABV.

A more legitimate lawsuit would be the pain and damage afflicted on his tastebuds after drinking a Foster's.
