So, anyway... HEY THERE. It's time for the second/last beer review of the night! Beer #2: (Alc. 14%) (Brewdog - Radio Zombie Phone In) Smells - Malted dark chocolate with coffee notes along for the ride. A bit of a boozy caramel along the sides. Tastes - Coffee with malted dark chocolate up front. A wisp of caramel then leads to a suggestion of warm, oaky hops. Overalls - A nice pleasant stout with a warm ending. A bit of a boozy bite in the second half, but not bad. As with most high ABV stouts, it's a sipping drink. It's the better of the two for the night, even if not in my overall top stouts. . . . I'm assuming y'all expected it wouldn't be too hard to find a pic for this one. Which would be the correct thought pattern. Bah, I'm just ramblin... here's the pic:
Thank God, a new page. I don't have to see a gigantic dong in my face every time I look at this God forsaken thread.
So, um, hello everyone who still may stop by here. Is PR still around? When I was out getting my beer today, the liquor store I was at had a 4-pack of Grimm! (I looked up his review about it, even though I was only there for singles and not buying packs of anything today.) I couldn't believe there was a Grimm beer there! Anyway, in case you haven't guessed, I'm here for another round of drinking. So, I'mma just get to it. Beer #1: (Alc. 11.8%) (Cameron's Brewing Co - Early Bird Breakfast Barley Wine) Smell - Funky caramel and hay up front. Dark cherry notes layered within the biscuity body. Taste - Slightly funky hay hides a thread of white chocolate. Soft caramel notes lead through boozy heat and far off dark cherry notes. All served on a biscuit. Overall, my description is more nuanced than a casual sip may reveal, which would probably come across more like "decent farmhouse style brew, with boozy heat". Of course, my ability to give good reviews may be hampered after so much time away from it! And, I know it's been awhile... But don't worry... I didn't forget the sexy pic to go with the beer!
So, I've moved on to my second beer. And instead of me rambling about unrelated shit, here's the review... Beer #2: (Alc. 12%) (Prairie Artisan Ales - Pirate Noir) Smellin: Coffee and rum come at it with equal strength, leaving little room for the licorice hued biscuit body, resting on a sweet malt soul. Tastin: Island coffee(?) and smoky rum, warmly present on a biscuit body... lofted by a sweet malty soul. Unique flavor. Overallin, I'm enjoying the peculiar brew I have in me glass! The smoky qualities could be unpleasantly overpowering, if I drank it quickly... so don't do that. Otherwise, it's a rather pleasant sipping beer. And for a pic? Umm... It's hardewr to find a relative pic than you might think it would be. So, with that in mind... here you go...
I went on a ghost tour this evening in Marietta, a joke by my wife and daughter. For almost 2 hours we were on a trolley, filled with cheerleaders and their chaperones. But we stopped at the square and I had one of these: This is the closest analog I could think of:
Wait.. what am I supposed to be looking for? Because, I saw your review of the beer I was looking at on the Untappd app while I was standing in the aisle at the liquor store. Is there more I was supposed to see? Or was that what you're referring to? I don't know because I'm no longer sober.
I want it. Sure, it's a little over $200, but I can ask everyone in my family (and friends) to pitch in for a Christmas present, right?
Is that a Belgian White? I don't think I've had one before, but it does look refreshing! I'm guessing it's not very bitter or too hoppy, yeah?
Also, hey everyone... I almost had beers tonight, but the timing didn't work out, so I'm not gonna bother. I'mma just make this post then go try out The Outer Worlds and see how that is. But... speaking of gaming, some exciting stuff happened this week! A couple days ago a character creator was released for City of Titans. Which I backed on Kickstarter SIX FUCKING YEARS AGO. So... this was a long while coming. Anyway, it took a couple days, but I finally got done making my first toon on there. And even though I'm not drinking tonight, I did want to come by and show him off. So, without further ado, I present... Veanox
Yes, it’s a Belgian White. Not at all bitter or hoppy. It was the perfect blend of sweetness with some orange and lime sourness. But it tastes different than say Blue Moon which is orangey. Wish they made it in a light. :/
Nice... sounds quite enjoyable! I just looked that up and woah... at only 3.5% alc, you could just pound those things endlessly!
Hoot hoot, bitches. I'm back for another round and this time I brought a couple pumpkin beers with me! Y'all ready? Cause, here we go! Beer #1: (Alc. 6.7%) (Elysian - Night Owl) (2019) Smell: Spiced pumpkin pie with a dollop of whipped cream with a graham cracker crust. Taste: Wheat up front introduces subtle, spiced pumpkin pie flavors. All resting on a cracker body. Distant bitter hops on the backend. Overall, it's a decent outing for Night Owl this year. Not as bold in pumpkin flavor as I'd prefer, but that also means it doesn't get overwhelming. Not bad. . . . And, of course... You're obligatory hottie pic...
