Before I get to my first review of the night...

I get how it could be annoying for some (many) people, but I like it.
    But I'm weird. (surprise!)

Either way, it is a great video, lol.

I try such a wide variety every time, I can't say I've really noticed that.
Although, I'm betting DuClaw is like that. *shudder*

Ok, NOW I'll get to my reviewin shit. :)

    First of all... Hello there!
    It's been, like, forever!
Two 1/2 weeks since my last drinkening!
(I've missed you guyz... you should find me on Twitter.)
    (Hint: @Kick_Frenzy )

Anyway, I'm probably going to get fairly drunk toinght.
I'm finishing up this first beer and already feeling it more than I usually would.

So, what am I waiting for?
    Let's do it!

    Beer #1:
    (Alc. 7.5%)
(Voodoo Ranger - Juicy Haze IPA)

Smell: Citrus and stone fruit hops born up on a bready soul. Just a ghosting of pepper notes tempering the brew in the background.

Taste: Citrus and stone fruit hops with softly rounded bitter notes. A hint of pepper notes provide a touch of warmth to the easy bread soul.

Overall, a well rounded brew with a somewhat creamy body. The bitter notes are soft and withdrawn. If I had to narrow down the fruity notes, I'd go with peach and grapefruit. The bready-ness is soft and unobtrusive. True to it's name, this would be good on a warm, hazy, late afternoon.

And I finally have a beer that's easy to find a pic for again!

    And then there were two.

Next up, the other IPA of the evening.
I'm looking forward to it, as Evil Twin has easily risen to one of my fave breweries.

And here we are... beer #2:
    (Alc. 8.5%)
(Evil Twin - Ceci N'est Pas A NE Style IPA)

Smells: Pithy, yet juicy, citrus notes up front - featuring pineapple ester scents. Served up on a faint cracker.

Tastes: Pineapple sweet-pith served up on a thick, cracker-ish body. With an undertow of herbal and black pepper ruminations.

Overall, this is a thicker and darker beer than I expected. The name also makes sense now. It's like a NE IPA, but not quite. It's like an IPA out of the SE that wanted to hang with the NE. Also... fuckin crushable, even at this ABV!

And I didn't think I was going to bother with trying to find a pic for something so meta, but then after drinking it...
well, this is what seemed appropriate:

    Kick,

I haven't had a beer in months. But after these two posts...damn...

...I'm ready to attack a field of hops.

    Oh shit!
    Thanks for the reminder!
I totally forgot to add my third beer here!

Be3r #3 (sorry for the giant pic):
    (Alc. 12%)
    (Jughandle - 4 Way Stop)

Smellin: Even handed white wine grape sweetness on the top. Slightly wet, smoky wood. Somewhere in the distance, a bready base hints at it's own existence.

Tastin: Wet, smoky wood tempered with a white wine inspired soul. A touch of raisin is inevitable. All resting on a bready biscuit.

Overallin, this is a somewhat boozy brew... obviously in the wine category instead of whiskey. A bit taught, but also pleasant in it's own right. Another one that lends itself to sipping instead of crushing.

    And the pic?
I don't know... I don't want to spend time trying to figure this one out.

    Sounds good to me!

What kind of beer were you drinking before?
    What didn't you like?
    What did you want?

Let me help you get drunk.

I'm an IPA girl in a perfect world. Also like some pale ales and, on the opposite end of the spectrum, Scotch ales.

So, an even tempered ale... with a quiet kick.

Sounds like you'd like what I think of as "late afternoon" or "bonfire" brews.
As you said, those first two I reviewed sound great for your taste buds.

(Also, this conversation has me thinking I should categorize my reviews somewhere along the way.)

I just got some backwoods bastard at a growler fill station. Looks like a bit of foam and sure enough once the foam goes down there is just about a pint missing.
No big deal I will drink it and whenever I go back will show the pics as proof. If they say I am s.o.l. there is another very good growler fill near my work. I will be going there if it comes to that.

Drinking Kirkland ipa. Malty for an ipa...same malt taste as their brown ale. Decent but nothing special...in fact the brown ale is below average for the style.

    Peek-a-boo!
    Happy National Beer Day!!!

I just HAD to get in a beer for today, even though it's not really a drinkin night for me.
(Plus, Untappd has a badge and I'm a bit of a badge whore, lol.)
(I'll probably be back in a week for a proper night o' drinkin.)

    Anyway... the beer:
    (Alc. 6%)
(The Wild Beer Co. - Bliss)

Smell: Dark spices and damp hay served up on a cracker. Hints of apricot playing in the background.

Taste: Subtle damp hay strides through with wafts of dark spice behind it, trailing off into the distance before warming the tail end. Whispers of apricot play in the background.

Overall, I'm thinking this may be old or something. It seems flat, but it's possible it's supposed to be like that. The taste is more congenial than expected for something with that funky brett yeast. A good summer/early autumn afternoon beer.

Didn't take long to find a pic for this one.
    :)

It's National Beer Day? Huh. I had no idea.

In fact, I had no idea National Beer Day was even a thing.

Well, to all who are participating, I toast with you a glass of...nothing.

Haven't had a beer since the beginning of February.

Was in a trade group and everyone was trading tree house. Saw a post selling beers titled TH. They named 3 different ones and I wanted to try a tree house beer.
So I drive an hour to pick them up...and the TH was tired hands not tree house....
Drinking rose now. Best floral beer I ever had by far...but still that floral taste sucks.

For a long time I went through a Porter/Stout phase in my 20s.

Now I seem to be an IPA connoisseur.

The name Space Dust sounds like a street name for a hallucinogen.
