One of my favorite beers on this beautiful November day in upstate NY.... Swish from Bissell Brothers out of Maine. This is a world class New England style IPA and sets the benchmark for the style. So good to have this again after not having it in over six months. This is a double IPA coming in at 8% ABV, but drinks like 5%. So awesome!! 5/5
I usually take it before, it does help a good bit with queasiness the morning after. And allergy meds help too, which is another reason I need to stop drinking lol, I guess the fact that they help signifies I'm allergic to something or other in beer and wine Malt beverages are the worst, I remember as a teenager drinking Smirnoff ice and breaking out in hives..ugh that stuff makes me want to vomit just thinking about it
Hello there, Kick Boxers! I'm back for another night of drinking, finally! (Last time, the site was undergoing the great migration) Before I get back to catching up on this thread and the new site, I'mma go ahead and post about my first beer of the night, yeah? Yeah. So, the beer: (Alc. 8.4%) (Elysian - The Great Pumpkin) Smell: At first smell, it's bready pumpkin pie. Nutmeg and cinnamon strengthen on the follow up. Taste: Smooth, creamy pumpkin pie. Browned crust and dark spices fill out the body. Overall, while it's ever-so-slightly astringent on larger sips, it's a wonderful pumpkin brew. The thick pie flavor wanes as you get further down the glass, but as far as pumpkin brews go, this is easily a worthy entry! And I have a pic to go with this one. It may not be sexy, but who are we kidding... we all know this HAD to go with this beer!
Hey now... why you got expectations of awesomeness about her tat? I mean, the damn thing says "No Expectations"! (lol) Also, those eyebrows are totally On Fleek. Seriously... do an image search for "on fleek". Her pic comes up as an example of "on fleek eyebrows", if not THE example. And she's hawt. XD
Aaaaand I'm all caught up. (On this thread.) Now, one last sip of The Great Pumpkin, then off to piss and take the dog for a walk. Then, beer #2. Not sure if I'll go with The Cloud or Lustro.
had to get some Leghumper.. I still feel a little dried out from the imperial last night , just could not do the cider.. even tried heating it up. Ive some aldis apple ale, probably splash it with rum and be better than the ciders. 5% will 35g sugar, urgh nah..
Ok, so I decided to go with Lustro. This way I can end the night on a Cloud. So, beer #2: (Alc. 8%) (Omnipollo - Lustro) Smellin: Citrus with a cracker/bread base. Somewhat earthy hops, with a hint of a bitter show. Slight clove ghosting throughout. Tastin: Nice, bright citrus inspired front side. Soft pithy, bitter hops outline the experience. Earthy (grassy) soul, softly whispers from underneath. Overall, I'm impressed. I'm not an IPA kinda guy, even though I try them fairly regularly. This is extremely pleasant. The bitter side slowly comes forward as you make your way through the glass, but it's muted nicely by the earthy tones. Drink this! And for the pic on this one, we're back to the hotness: (One of the better pic/beer pairings, if I do say so myself!)
I think this picture is sideways but whatever..I went to a German pub tonight and broke my no drinking rule with an Ayinger Dopplelbock because its a German pub and the drinks are delicious..so that's the drink you see in the background and also the meat, cheese, and bread was delicious. So that's that
I edited, not a dunkel. I had a dunkel next. The beer in the picture was an Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock
Oh! I found it! "I Love You With My Stout"by Eviltwin! I like the name. Wonder if I'd like the beer. But how were your beers?
That particular Evil Twin was an option tonight but I didn't order it. However, my choices were very fine
Glad to hear it! (Shitty beer sucks!) Speaking of beer, I'm getting close to #3... which nmeans personal filters are starting to fail. hehe
