Well they are in the backwoods of the Pinelands so it's not exactly a haven for master brewers. Strawberry Berliner is average. As well as the black ipa.
Drinking HopHands from Tired Hands, a pale ale. Very light and citrusy with some grassy, floral notes. 5.5% ABV Solid, but underwhelming for a Tired Hands beer. 3.75/5
Earlier I had Dorothy from Hill Farmstead, a saison. Very crisp, clean, light, dry and effervescent with a fruity, spicy bite. 7% ABV 4.25/5
All their beers are average for the style....Pretty much how I describe sam adams. The environment was good. And prices were average but the one thing I liked was all the beers were the same price....at least as far as I could tell.
Comparing them to Sam Adams is simply retarded. Sam Adams is like the Budweiser of craft beer. Fuck, they're not even craft. You can't merely sample a couple of their beers on a single day and come to the conclusion that they're average. This is a brewery that has put out well over a hundred beers over the relatively few years they have been in operation. Many of those beers are well crafted and highly acclaimed.
Just because sam sells the most dosnt mean they should be compared to bud. As for reversed flag...if I had 10 coconut porters and theirs lands in the top 6 but not top 3. I would call that average. Nothing you say will change that .
Not my pic, but currently sippin': Love it. Never tried sour beer until recently, but it's quickly becoming one of my favorite styles!
At Neshaminy brewery. Greatly disappointed. They are awesome at ipa's but no dark beers and really lacking in anything else I like. Lil expensive and no growlers is the part that kills me. The cherry hibiscus wheat is the one bright spot. Oh and the shape of hops to come is named after the Refused album 'the shape of punk to come' which is one of my favorite albums ever so that part was cool.
Was just ready to head home when I saw broken goblet is one mile away and opened just as I was leaving. Figured I would check it out....one of the best environments for a micro I ever saw. Flights are half the price of Neshaminy. Oh yeah and they have growlers. The amber is one of the better ones I have had. And (gasp) they had a stout. Pretty good coffee stout on nitro. Only disappointment was the cream ale. And it wasn't bad. Just had no bite to it.
Magic Green Nuggets from Other Half -- a double IPA brewed with Segal Ranch High Oil Cascades. Super dank and resinous with a tongue-scraping bitterness. Tons of West Coast piney characters with some sweet citrus (pineapple, peach). 8.5% ABV 4.5/5
Now drinking Nelson from Other Half -- an IPA brewed with Nelson Sauvin hops. Very grassy and floral with lots of orange and lemon rind, some tangerine and grapefruit. Light bodied and with a moderate level of carbonation. 6.5% ABV 4.25/5
Moving on to Mad Fat Anniversary from Interboro (Brooklyn, NY) -- a double dry-hopped double IPA. So much green earthy dankness with some green vegetal and slight onion notes/characters. Super juicy too, with flavors of mango, orange, and passionfruit. Super smooth and medium bodied. 9% ABV 4.65/5
