Last night I chugged a Brooklyn Blast from 2010 for my friends on Fakebook. Surprisingly it did not taste horrible.
Hop Valley Alpha Centauri thats what I'm drunk on right now. Highly recommend I'm pretty isolated from all the amazing east coast brews y'all go on and on about in this thread.
Enjoying three beers from Mikkeller (San Diego) this morning (after working all night). The first is Windy Hill, a hazy New England style IPA. Really awesome, super soft and creamy IPA with hop flavors of juicy pineapple, peach, papaya and some pine backnotes. 7% ABV A The second is Raspberry Blush, a Berliner weiss brewed with coffee (yes, coffee) and raspberry. Surprisingly it works amazingly well. Super crisp and tart with a pretty dry finish. Perfect beer for summer! 4% ABV A- I am now finishing things off with Waves (Bolger), an IPA. This has a sharp, spicy, bitter hop bite to it, and is my least favorite of the three. Still very good, however, and it drinks very clean, crisp and bright. 7.3% ABV B+
Is this what this thread's about? I'm not a big beer drinker, but I discovered this and been drinking a lot of beer lately (I'm usually a wine and margarita type a gal.)
It's a random posts...just interesting pics and shit like that but all the regular posters here are craft beer lovers. I'm at departed souls right now. Their red headed step brewer is definitely top 3 reds I ever had. Maybe the best I ever had. Gonna get a growler to go and give a better review. The dayumm is a session pale ale with orange and coriander That one is one of the better sessions I had. Dark night a black ipa was weak. Had a nice bitterness but below average for a dark beer or an ipa. The for my homie. Has no description tastes like a good ipa that had water added to it.
I dunno, some IPA. Yipikayay IPA - I threw the can away already, can't remember the brewery so I just googled the name and it looks like yipikayay ipa is a very popular IPA name so I'm still not sure of the brewery. They're in Raleigh, NC. That's all I remember from the can. I've had too many IPAs lately, I went out of town last weekend and the town I was visiting didn't really have a craft beer scene..every restaurant and bar had Blue Moon, Stella, and some random IPA on tap and that was basically it I guess I need to have some of these New England IPAs PR is always takking about. Most IPAs I try are just so blah
Got a couple pages to catch up on, but posting my new exbeerience (like that?) first. The beer: ? (Alc. 7.5%) (Jai Alai, by Cigar City Brewing) Smell: Pine and citrus (lemon, grapefruit) up front, with a fluttering of hoppy bitterness in the airs. Perhaps a bit of cracker/biscuit tucked in there as well. Taste: A thicker body, with citrus on the tongue first, quickly followed by dank pine. Dry hops with a cracker base fill out the bottom end, with a bitter love bite rounding out the edges. Overall, a welcoming ale that's well suited for sitting around a park bench with some friends, just after the days heat has dissipated. Well balanced enough that the stronger pine dankness and bitter hops only fill out the curvy body, instead of smacking you in the face.
Ok, I'm all caught up. Done with that first brew, 3/4 done with the second one (Sea Quench). I may have a Sam Adams Summer Ale or two before hitting up my lovely Arrogant Bastard. Which I'll probably add the last of my corn whisky to (which is less than a shot worth, lol). All I know is I'm barely buzzed, nevermind "what the hell did I do last night" drunk.
Sunday Funday.... drinking Item from Finback; a hazy, New England style IPA. Not one of the better ones I've had from Finback, but not bad.
THIS is the stuff dreams are made of... One of the best New England style IPAs from one of the most acclaimed breweries in the country.
